Screen goes black

I have a 15" HP monitor that is 1 1/2 years old. I was online and the right side of the screen turned pink, then the screen started flashing and went black. The blue power light stays on. If I turn the monitor off and back on, I can see the screen for about 1 second and then it goes completely black again. I have tried running the virus protection and getting online and rebooting and that seems to be doing fine. Does it sound like I have a bad monitor?

I have the exact same problem. Only it has been pink the bottom right hand corner for a while, and nothing happened. Now it will flicker on then go black. Nothing I do will make it come back on.

It could be a bad backlight bulb.

HP m9510f will not boot up.

no boot M9510f,
no boot is like the all time #1 complaint on PCs.
endless posts online on this and for sure at HP.. ever read their forums?
there real name is (and is supported still at HP) is
HP Pavilion Elite m9510f Desktop PC
no statement on screens, is the screen dead, and black
never once see HP logo, never see words to the effect
hit ESC to enter HP setup (BIOS) or F1 or F10 or????? do tell please.
that is first, forget windows now (its LAST)
screen model or maker stated ,
my guess a flat screen LCD
and the front button on it works and the screens local OSD menu works, right?
if PC is dead, the screen is checked first. for sure if BIOS screens in the PC are 100% dead, no text no F1,ESC,F10 keys prompted in text means PC dead or SCREEN dead.

here is HP page on your pc
https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-pavilion-elite-m9500-desktop-pc-series/3824167/model/3876396/troubleshooting

here is black screen tests.
the screen (DISPLAY monitor) has its own brain
and is called OSD, on screen display
we check that first. always........ if screen is made before 2000 year
we trash it.... LOL (before first brains inside )

black screens, Desktop only.

My HP w1907 monitor less than a year old is turning pink!

A flickering screen with pink colour is a sign of a CCFL lamp problem.
The CCFL lamp is a mini fluro tube and it provides the back-lighting, it is definitely faulty and about to fail completely.
You need to get it repaired while it is still under warranty.

Laptop LCD goes black after a few seconds

Hello,

Yes, The pink tint is an indication that the backlight is failing. Now the backlight is basically dead, the best way to get back going is to do an Ebay search for your model laptop and get a new screen. Most screens can be purchased for around $50.00 - $70.00 and they are very easy to swap. Email me if you need more info.

Hp w2007 blank screen

we have here , like 1000s of black screens posted here now.
all the same all with CCFL lamps. that die. same solution.
older monitors have a power saver mode inside it,
push the front button called menu, then see OSD menu
then find and turn off power saver.
if the OSD fails to show up; the CCFL are dead.
this monitor was made in 2007, and 2010 is the starting year
for ending the usage of CCFL (starting on large screens working to small)

im reading your manual for you now, free.
page 4 tells you it has CCFT (T mean Tube, L means lamp)
same same.
https://www.manualslib.com/manual/1110533/Hp-W2007.html?page=4#manual

now lets look at the page on saver. power

page 7, (its on by default ) oops !
https://www.manualslib.com/manual/1110533/Hp-W2007.html?page=7#manual

turn saver OFF
see next page 8 and turn DDC ON.
see sleep timer and turn that all off.
if you push factory reset, it the problem begins again.
bad. for you.

https://www.manualslib.com/manual/1110533/Hp-https://www.manualslib.com/manual/1110533/Hp-W2007.html?page=8#manual

you can in fact download the whole manual.
for free. here. the site on the internet in this regard.

all old HP monitors are made for old PC 2000 year.
your PC is not 17 years old i bet.
so all this old saver stuff is now WRONG.
(all this is old school Energy Star , malarkey, )

HP 15 in. Flat panel Problem

plug in a different monitor temporarily, check your display settings (right click background, settings, advanced, monitor) and set refresh rate to 60hz. plug in this monitor again and see if that helps some monitors (lcd's especially) cannot handle beyond 60hz

Hp vs15, black screen, power light goes on and off like it is in sleep mode

Monitor is dead. The LCD inverter board probably went out and needs replacing. More than likely, it will cost you over $100 to get it fixed. It's better to spend the money on a new monitor.
