Hi, I have an AWZ410 front loading washer dryer. My problem is that once switched on the cold water solenoid switches on and then off, so the water is pulsing into the machine. This is all the machine does, however if I press the 1000/500 button it begins to fill and stops when full not advancing any further. If I then move the timer to B to drain it does drain but continues darining noisily. Can anyone offer advice?

Hi Kevin, I disconnected the pipe to the pressure switch and when I blew into it the drain pump came on, does this mean the pressure switch is ok? Is it the control board? Is there any chance it is the timer?

Hi Kevin. Since I last spoke to you I tried to run but the same thing happened. I took out the control board and disconnected the three connectors, I had a look at it and could not see any signs of damage. I checked the resistors and diodes with a metre and none of the capacitors looked swollen. When I put the board back in and tried to run the drum filled but when it should spin nothing happened except a low hum. I took out the motor, the armature and field were in good condition with the windings intact the brushes also had plenty left in them. Any ideas?

Hi kevin. I have been sleeping since I last contacted you and am about to go to work so It will be this evening before I get a chance to lok at the machine again. Where do I find the motor relay? I have downloaded the service manual and cannot find any mention of a motor relay. Is it one of the black square components on the PCB. The PCB is an ELMARC H8.1 DMPU1J.

Hi Daniel, I replaced the water inlet valve and this did not solve the problem. I then checked the control unit I took it out and checked diodes and resistors with a meter all were good, the capacitors all looked fine none cracked or swollen. when I put the board back in, the machine filled however the drum did not start to spin but the machine drains when I turn the program to drain. When it should spin it only made a slight hum. I then took out the motor and checked the windings in the armature and stator all were fine and the brushes had plenty of life left in them. I think the control board is the problem what do you think?

Hi

If the washer won't fill you'll need to check for the water inlet hose, the water inlet valve and the pressure/water level switch assembly. Inspect the inlet hose coming to the washer for any blockages. If the hose is not clogged then check the water inlet valve for any clogs, if the water will not even fill for few seconds then certainly the water inlet valve is bad and should be replaced. You can also use a multimeter to check continuity on inlet valve. If you don't get any value on the multimeter then you'll need to replace the water inlet valve assembly. However, if the valve is fine then the pressure/water level switch assembly should be replaced. Hope this helps... Please post back if you need more information.

If the door is closing properly and the motor is fine then you are right it is the control board that is bad and should be replaced.

Hello & Welcome to FixYa

The problem is with the pressure switch or the control board that is bad and needs replacement. You have to test the pressure switch, if that is fine then replace the control board. However, before replacing the board make sure nothing is blocked in the bottom front panel of the unit which is known as drain pump filter assembly. Please get back to me if you have any other questions.

This means that the pressure switch hose was clogged, try running it now if the washer works then problem is solved if not then replace the switch

  • Anonymous Aug 24, 2011

You have already done a wonderful job and now I believe it is the motor relay that is bad and so motor won't start.

Yes Correct it is the board.

I have Model AWZ410 Washing machine, the washing cycle now takes up to 6 Hours!

i have experienced a machine doing this it was caused by the outlet hose pipe not alined it was syphoning water intermittently so check the hose outlet. 2nd
the wash heater may be open circuit causing the wash cycle to stop, the timer is then manually turned to continue washing .3rd check the pressure switch hose for blockage by taking it off the switch and blowing down to clear any blockage.

How do I stop the front loader (washer/dryer from flooding my rv?

If the washer is overflowing the pressure switch might be defective. The pressure switch is attached to a small tube which is attached to the outer wash tub. As the water level rises the air pressure in the tube increases, once the set water level is reached the pressure switch turns off power to the water inlet valve. Check to be sure the air tube to the pressure switch is clear before replacing the switch.
If the pressure switch is fine, check the water inlet valve for continuity on the solenoid coil by removing the top cover of the machine.

What to do if whirlpool awz 50e washing machine is showing water closed tap indicator although tap is not closed

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,
Providing that the tap is turned fully on and the hoses are not kinked or squashed at the back, this is symptomatic of a malfunctioning water control valve- the hot water one, if the washer is hot and cold fill, and the cold one if it is just cold fill!
Sorry but it needs replacing and a service call to confirm that it is not something else ;-0(
Good luck,

The water is overfill

Hi

Overfilling is caused when either the water inlet valve or water level switch is bad. When any of these parts goes bad it won't shut off the water and so cause overfilling. Hope this helps...please post back for further assistance.

Kenmore front load washer, model 417

Washer dryers often have cold water valves with 3 separate solenoids. One for the main wash and rinses (which is clearly ok) and one for the condition rinse (to take the fabric conditioner down) which is probably ok too, and the 3rd one is for the dryer. It's possible this 3rd solenoid has failed.

Washer dryers need on a steady trickle of cold water running into the condenser chamber to convert the steam into water, which then gets pumped down the drain.

e10 means that there is a problem with the water supply.
a condenser dryer needs cold water to operate properly. the e10 code will appear if:
1. the water is turned off
2.the water pressure is too low.
3.the solenoid valve is open circuit
4.there is a problem with the pressure switch (least likely)

Cold valve is at the end of blue inlet pipe remove lid and you will see it.

f E10 is only appearing when trying to dry, the problem almost certainly is the condenser valve solenoid open circuit. The green solenoid on the inlet valve. Should read about 4000 ohms.

My money would be on the solenoid coil being open circuit. The coil can be canabalised from most valves although you may have to modify the connections. For simpler repairs - contact Zanussi and get the entire triple inlet water valve to swap out.

Whirlpool AWZ410 Washer/Dryer Washes But Will Not Dry!

I have the same problem. The half load / drying button is pushed in; the drying time set; I've reduced the load to almost nothing, but it won't dry. I've tried numerous cycles. The clothes spin, but are still damp at the end.

How would I go about checking my lid switch or fixing my clutch, if that's the problem?

Kenmore front load washer: no cold water problem

that's odd.

if you choose cold/cold then check your hose orientation. you could have put the hot water to the cold solenoid.
or the wires have been interchange, the hot water wire was plug to the cold solenoid and the cold water wire was plug to the hot water solenoid.
or hot water is still flowing to your cold water line.

if the cold water solenoid is the problem, then there should be no water at all going to the tub.

try to experiment, try to switch to hot/hot and see what would come out...

tnx 4 using fixya,
