On newer other machines, there is a cleanout cycle that uses 2/3 cup of bleach, no detergent and I believe uses more water. Suggest you use a load of white towels, no detergent, the bleach and put it through a normal or soak cycle where the bleach has a chance to kill off the germs and other bacteria, then rinses itself clean. They also recommend that the door be left open on these machines to allow the moisture to clear and dry assisting in curtailing further development of the same. The cleanout procedure they present is suggested for monthly using their special cycle which doesn't exist on my HE3T either. Hope this helps some. NOTE: There are cautions about leaving the high level of concentrations in the washer for extended periods or too often.

Washer machine filled up with water all night with door open? I have a mess of water in my basement and no water pressure.

If water comes into washer with no power to it and water valves are turned on then you have a bad water inlet valve in washer. Try unplugging washer and turn on water valves see if water comes in note may be small amount (but it does add up if it runs all night) if it does your water valve is bad..Replace.Sometimes the vales can stick open a little it is caused by buildup inside valves from minerals and other items in water....Note make sure if you replace valve that you have sediment screens in your water inlet lines on washer that will prevent items in water getting stuck in valves and keeping them open..If you need more help please ask if I helped you please vote Thanks and good luck

Bad smell like dirty mop

The following link explains some of the common causes of front loader washer odors and how to minimize or prevent them from coming back:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r3608512-getting_rid_front_loader_mildew_odor

The number one cause, is associated with leaving the washer door shut all the time. The manufacturer recommends that you leave the door OPEN between washes to allow the wash tub to air out. This can prevent the build up of mold and mildew and will also minimize any odors that may develop.

There is ALWAYS residual water remaining in the drain pump and drain lines. This is NORMAL. Since this is the low point of the drainage system, water will always stay in this area. Leaving the door open will allow the washer to air out and prevent this water from becoming stagnant. In addition, the drain pump reservoir can collect dirt and debris over time. Periodically checking the reservoir will minimize odors. There is a follow on link provided that explains how to access and clean the drain pump.

Only use HE detergent. Using the wrong type of deteregent, or too much detergent can cause the build up of soap scum. Soap scum can also contribute to odor problems. Using regular detergent in these High Efficiency washers will also void any existing warranty you may have.

Read through the link provided and let me know if you have any questions. If the link does not take you directly to the instructions I provided, copy and paste the link to your web browser. I hope you find this information helpful.

When empty, I can turn inside and sounds like there is water sloshing inside

This is not a problem actually. That is quite normal for top load washers. What happens is when the pump comes on to expel the used water it only runs long enough to empty the inner drum. The outer drum still has a little bit of water inside to act as a pea trap of sorts. This keeps undesirable smells from reentering your pipes and causing bad Oder's in your home. As long as your cloths come out clean and partially dried from the spin cycle then your washer is working correctly. Hope this helps. Good luck.

The inside of my Speed Queen washer smells badly . It makes my clothes smell also , but not near as much as inside of the washer . What happened to cause this ?? Also , the detergent holder never...

Front load washers seal up tight with door closed. This causes the smell. Leave the door open in between loads.

The detergent holder always holds a little water.

There is a musty oder coming from inside washing machine.

Dump in a gallon of white vinegar, fill with water, highest setting, after it goes through that setting, turn it off and let it set in the washer for about 30 minutes (use hot water).

Then put it on another wash cycle and then go to the rinse and spin. This should remove the order, and you should leave the door open when not in use.

Good Luck

Kenmore elite washer smells

You are probably using too much soap and softner. You only need about 1 Tablespoon of each for a full load with a front load machine. Run it with nothing it in except bleach. If you see bubbles inside that means there's left over soap in the tub. Keep running it empty (with bleach) until you don't see bubbles anymore then start using less soap.
