if it was a brand new you can ask first the supplier since it was covered with the warranty and not to void.

Do not turn this television on! Any electronic that smokes is NOT GOOD! The smoke and accompanying smell is from plastic and solder that is being melted by a short on one of the TVs logic boards. Call a local TV repair man this is not an issue you could fix yourself and will most likely be better off buying a new television. Stay away from off brands like these, spend the few extra bucks on a name brand like Sony, Toshiba, LG, or Samsung and you won't encounter these types of issues.

if it is Brand new I think you should return it ASAP

If possible turn one off and tune the other. Then turn the other off and tune it. Then turn on the other. That is your only option at this point.
