I have a Daewoo FRS 2031IAL that is leaking at the freezer door bottom. The pipe leading to the water/ice dispenser is in fact cracked at the hinge. How do I replace it? I was told that the complete freezer door has to be replaced but it does not make sense.

SOURCE: maytag side by side freezer leaking water and icing in bottom

Defrost drain system is plugged and not draining out the back and into the drain collector. There is normally an air trap in this drain line under the back and behind a fiber removable panel. Check this trap and make sure it is clear of any blockage. You will then have to defrost the freezer and clear out the ice. Don't forget to replace the back fiber panel.

SOURCE: frost free freezer with ice in the bottom and

Frost Free Freezer have an automatic defrost, which is essentially a heating element which melts any ice. If your door seals are in poor condition or something is preventing the door from sealing the ambient air may be melting the ice more than the drain can accommodate. Check the drain in the bottom of the freezer. Humidity can also cause more water to accumulate, especially if the door seals are not sealing.

The water filter should be changed every six months, not two years.
The water lines may still be frozen even though you turned the unit off, but most likely you are not getting water flow due to a clogged filter. Change it.

Our subzero freezer has a new problem. The cubes

Ice cubes WILL BE slightly moist when they land in the ice bucket. they've just been slightly melted in order to eject from the ice maker. Stop playing with the settings, for starters. put them back to normal, i.e., middle setting, place thermometer in center of freezer, and if you can, one in center of fresh food. monitor after 24 hours, and for the next three days thereafter. freezer temps should be in the -5 - +5°F, sometimes up to 10°, fresh food should be 35-40, sometimes up to 44°at the normal settings. If you are not having temperature issues, see if you notice any frozen drips of water on the underside of icemaker, indicating a possible crack in the ice maker mold, or a faulty water valve. You didnt include your model and serial number, so not knowing the path of the ice shoot, some go out the freezer door, some slide over and get dispensed from the fresh food side. Its possible you may have a problem instead with the flapping door that opens to allow ice cubes to be dispensed, or similar type mechanism. If this door does not seat completely when its closed, it will leak warm air directly into the ice bucket, which would make them slightly moist, also too, this warm air can cause frost and ice to buildup near the warm air source...look for any unusual forms of ice and or frost leading up from the flapping door to the ice bucket. Also look for any gaps in the door gasket when closed, this warm air leak can also cause similar problems, but its most likely with the ice door. could be the door, the spring, the solenoid, or something else i wouldn't know without personal refrigerator inspection.

Door doesn't close properly, leaks water

If the door seals are still pliable and intact there are two possible causes.

1/ The upper door hinge on the top of freezer unit has two adjusting screws under a plastic cover/cap which allows the upper hinge to be set forward or back altering/adjusting the spacing of the door seal to the freezer body. Moving the hinge outward at the top will cause the door to seal tighter at the bottom and lessen escaping cold air and condensation to form (water droplets). Adjust carefully so as not to create a weak seal (air gap) along other sealing edges of the door frame.

2/ Many United Refrigeration Commercial Freezers are manual defrosting. Moisture from inside the freezer can condense between the inner molded door panel (door shelves) and the exterior metal door. Usually ice buildup will occur in this space, but when defrosting or during high ambient temps the ice will melt and drip out along the bottom door edge/seal. Screws alomg the door frame (hidden by the door seal) hold the seal in place and also the inner molded door panel. The inner panel can be removed to replace the seal or to remove the ice buildup.
