Uninstall the driver and then reinstall it again, maybe the installation is corrupted.

Can't connect fujitsu 5120c scanner to windows 7 machine

Hi,

To connect your Fujitsu fi-5120c scanner to Windows 7 PC, you need to install the TWAIN driver for Windows 7. Please download the driver update from the link provided below:

Keeps saying "scanner failure" What do I do?

Scanners are a real legacy issue within windows - they have been there forever and yet the software controlling them hasn't been improved on - TWAIN it is the name of the Toolkit which communicates with your scanner and the proprietary software sits on top of that. TWAIN stands for "Toolkit Without An Interesting Name" - I think says it all. It hasn't been improved on much through the various releases of Windows. But to help you more we would need a lot more information.

- Platform Windows 7 .... Mac ...
- Scanner name and manufacturer
- Type of connection to the scanner ( USB ¦ WIRELESS )
- Whether you have had the scanner working in the past on this machine.
- Does the scanner work on another machine - Do you have another machine on which to try the scanner.
- Do you have the original disks for the scanner. And the original Windows Disk - so that you can load up the TWAIN software.
- How did you install the software for the scanner
- Have you come across this TWAIN driver ( perhaps you haven't installed that - because the Manufacturer's software doesn't include the TWAIN driver ( you have to load that from your Windows disk )

If you haven't loaded the TWAIN software - then perhaps - you should de-install the Manufacturers software and then install the TWAIN driver from the disk ( although - it may already be resident in the bowls of the Windows environment on the machine ) and then finally re-install the Manufacturer's software ...

So more questions than answers - but I hope that helps ....

Cant get my computer to recognize my SprintScan 4000

The scanner uses a "twain" driver, try searching for that, it may be one of the files you already downloaded. Just look in the download u got. Also try going to add hardware, select the scanner there and poit it to the downloaded file when uit asks if you have a disk that came with it. Download the drivers to your desktop, rt click and open a folder on the desktop, and drag all of the drivers and the Twain one especially, into the folder.

I have a Canon scanner 5000f. All of a sudden the computer won't recognize it and says it is "unable to select Twain Source." What do I do?

First you need to follow the instructions for installing the scanner. It is important whether you connect the scanner before the software is installed and whether you work from the new hardware found box or just install the driver as software. It sometimes varies between operating systems as well.

Sometimes the twain files can become corrupted. Since other devices like digital cameras use the twain files they aren’t erased with a driver uninstall or overwritten with an install. If the twain files are gone the driver install will also install them.

Uninstall ScanGear (I think that is the Canon driver software) and remove the scanner if it is still showing in device manager and control panel under scanners. Unplug the USB.
Do a search for twain and delete all you find in the Windows folder. There is probably a folder and several files – delete them all. Do not remove any twain files not in the Windows folder.
Dig out the instructions and reinstall the scanner exactly according to them.
