Hello,

It was a pleasure talking to you on the phone. As a recap I you have a customers flat screen tv at your shop because they brought it in to you because the TV would not turn on. You have the TV, and it wont turn on even manually, you test the out put amps and all seem to be normal.

Here is my advice first, is sense the customer did not drop off the remote, it is possible, that if you get the remote from the customer and make sure there is good batteries in it, is take out batteries and replace them with new batteries and try to turn it on, if this still does not work, then this is most likely what it is and needs to be replaced, I am 99% sure if after trying the remote with new batteries still does not turn on the set, then you have a blown capacitor. If you replace the capacitor, this will most likely solve the problem. capacitors get what we call swollen, and that is cause by surges, storms shutting off power etc,,,, So, again, if remote does not work after trying this, next step is try replacing the capacitor. Let me know, mike from fixya.

Had a power outage and tv was on when power came back on , heard a pop , now tv has no sound ?

If you have one of the newer flat screen TV sets; power the TV off and then unplug the set from the wall outlet for a couple of minutes and then plug the TV set back in and then power it back up. Lots of newer flat screens have a power supply system that will not reset properly after a voltage spike or a power outage that is a short duration. By unplugging from the wall outlet and letting the power supply drain all the way to a zero (0) setting it usually resets ok when you power it back up. good luck, Dennis

LG TV Goes Into Hibernation (I Think)

This could be two things 1- a power saving mode in the TV... go into settings on the TV, look for either "power save settings" or "energy star settings" go in and turn that off. 2- it could be a screen saving mode because the TV has lost signal...some HDDVR receivers such as Direct TV DVR etc...have their own power saving mode, after a couple our of inactivity, they turn off, which kills the signal to the TV...so the TV shuts down because it has no signal coming to it.... if that is the case, you need to go into the settings on your cable/satellite settings and also look for a "power save mode" or "energy star saving", and turn that off.

Hello

Just reset your tv to factory settings. By doing this all the settings will be set to its orginal factory mode, and you have to reset all the settings including V-Chip settngs. To set it to factory settings do the following.

Switch off the TV wiith its front panel power ON-OFF switch and wait for about 5 minutes.

1 Press POWER to turn on the TV.

2 Hold down RESET on the remote control.

3 Press TV POWER on the TV. (The TV will turn itself off, then back

4 Release RESET.

Universal remote px-rc1

Hi! This worked for me! I'm Leyz/leheart from the Philippines. I'm typing in CDRKing or CD-R King or CDR King Universal Remote Control PX-RC1 so that these keywords will show up if someone's looking for it too.
Mcneileric is right!
Real TV should be on! On the remote, press and hold the SET and DEVICE TYPE (in my case TV) at the same time. (Note: SET button is not any other button but the one with the word SET on it. You might have been searching on youtube and found that they are pressing other SET buttons but do press the SET button with the SET word). Then press SET again. Press the POWER button then + CHANNEL button then POWER button then +CHANNEL button then POWER button then +CHANNEL. (This process is so the remote could look for the code while you are pressing the +CHANNEL and the POWER is to see if the tv will turn off/respond to the remote). Do this repeatedly until the time that when you press the POWER button, the real TV turns off which means the real TV now responds. You will be shocked so DON'T press the +CHANNEL button anymore as this will instruct the device to look for another code. Instead, press the DEVICE TYPE button (TV for my case) to finish the set up.
NOW YOU CAN USE the REMOTE! Press the POWER button and this will turn on the TV!
Again...
TV onPress and hold SET button (yes, the button with the word SET) and DEVICE type button (TV/VCR,etc) at the same time for about 3 secondsPress SET againPress Power to check if the TV turns off^^If nothing happens, press +CHANNEL to search for codePress Power again to check if TV turns off^^If nothing happens, repeat the step between ^^ and ^^If the TV now turns off after pressing the POWER button, press the DEVICE type button to finish the setup.
Mcneileric, THANK YOU!!!!

How to set codes on my px-rc1 remote

Hey finally I found myself how to set the code... I have a PX-RC1 kind a noname remote at XScargo anyway...
Press SET BUTTON and at the same time, the appliance you want to set( TV, VCR,Aux...etc). The LED shoould stay on.. then press on the SET BUTTON again ... the led will blink fast... then press ( in front of TV, of else).. the POWER BUTTON to see what happens, if nothing happens, then press the +CHANNEL BUTTON once, and press power again. Repeat this until it turn off. THen press the appliance button (VCR,TV,AUX, etc...), this will stop the LED to blink and your appliance will be set.. I guess if it doesn't work good, go further onto the code with the +CHANNEL BUTTON (better count it in case you go too far, for myself I went too far and tried to use the -BUTTON and didn't work)
GOOD LUCK GUYS,
