Vivitar mini digital camera

I bought this little camera on vacation...cheaper than buying another memory card for my regular digital. Now that I'm home.... have followed all installation instructions. But when I click on the My Camera option on my desktop... it says can't connect to camera. I tried using the photo impression to aqquire my photos and got the same result. And yes, I have installed all the software and have the usb pluged in right. Now I'm guessing that I'm going to lose my seaworld vacation photos. Right??

Try a different USB cable or in a different USB port on the PC. All USB cables are not alike. There are charge only and data only cables. Other cables will do both.

Heres how to disable the automatic restart on failure:
Heres how to disable the automatic restart

  1. Navigate to the Control Panel in Windows XP by left-clicking on Start, followed by Settings and then choosing Control Panel.
  2. In the Control Panel window, open System.
Note: In Microsoft Windows XP, depending on how your operating system is setup, you may not see the System icon. To correct this, click on the link on the left-hand side of the Control Panel window that says Switch to Classic View.
  3. In the System Properties window, click on the Advanced tab.
  4. Locate the Startup and Recovery area and click on the Settings button.
  5. In the Startup and Recovery window, locate and uncheck the check box next to Automatically restart.
  6. Click OK in the Startup and Recovery window.
  7. Click OK in the System Properties window.
  8. From now on, when a problem causes a failure or a major error that halts the system, the PC will not automatically reboot. Rebooting manually will be necessary.
Now you will be able to see what is the cause.

Its most likely a driver or software issue post back what you get.

My vivitar camera model 46 WON'T EMPTY MEMORY

There should be a "Format" command somewhere in the menu system with which you can format the memory card. This will wipe out any existing information on the card and prepare it for further use.

Since you didn't specify the model of your Vivitar camera I'm afraid I can't tell you exactly where in the menu system this command is.

Where do I buy more memory for my c 770 camera?

Olympus cameras have a special memory card called xD-Picture Card. You can buy these cards from any cameras shop or from eBay (probably cheaper although they are more expensive than the regular cards).

Are your pics on the internal memory or the memory card? With no card in the camera, can you bring up the internal memory? If not, then any pics on it are gone. Your best bet at this point would be to format the internal memory to completely erase anything on it and vow never to use it. Is there anything on the memory card? You may have to use a card reader to find out.
Had you done your homework on this camera before buying it, you would have found out that nobody likes it. It's cheap and totally unreliable. Takes horrible pics and doesn't even have an optical zoom....only a terrible digital zoom. Saving the once in a lifetime pics from a vacation requires a much better camera.

$9.99 Vivitar Mini Digital Camera software installation problems:

Sounds like the camera and the software is not compatible with your computer's operating system. I'm not familiar with this camera but, at $9.99, it probably doesn't use a memory card. If it does, you could use a separate card reader to download the pictures to a folder you create on your desktop.

New card

According to the instructions that came with the camera, it states that a maximum of 256 mb memory card is allowed. So, 1G amd 2G memory cards won't work. Like you, I bought a 2G memory card, getting the same message that the card was full so when I checked the manual, I saw my mistake. Live and Learn! I should have checked the manual BEFORE I bought this card. Now I have to go out and buy the 256 mb memory card (and I'll save the 2G card for a new camera that I hope to buy in the future).[email protected]

Memory card not reading in canon a75

So as not to spoil your vacation, go buy yourself a new compact flash card locally. They should sell them anywhere electronics are sold, including WalMart, etc. See if you can get this new card to work in your camera. If so, then you can work on trying to get your current CF to work, by trying to format it in the camera. If you can't get a new CF to work in the camera, then you likely damaged either the pins in the CF socket in the camera, or some switch that is pushed when the card is inserted (to tell the camera there is a card in it). It is unlikely you will be able to have this fixed during your vacation, unfortunately.

Hello Cindy, i suggest to take backup of your photos regularly. then if you are using internal memory, format it regularly and you are using memory card also format regularly. if your problem stil remain, it is possible that your memory card is defective, buy new one,Transcend advisable.
