Hi,
Yes... set the dehumidifiers up on blacks so that the hose drains downward and your problem will be solved... make sure the hose is supported so that it steadyly slopes downward and does not trap...

The outlet is very crappy and the hose does not seal well ...also make sure the hose end has a washer in it...

Bucket removal is extremely difficult. What should I do?

There's usually a piece or tubing that hangs down into the tank and you need to pull your tank past this when removing it to drain your dehumidifier. Are you lifting from the top or bottom? Try the opposite of what you are doing. Sorry I don't know your model specifically, but often there's an outlet or cap at the bottom of the tank that can have a plastic piece of aquarium type tubing hooked to it. This way if you can elevate the whole dehumidifier, say on a counter, the water can just drain into a sink or if you're a real conserver into a storage tank to use to flush your toilet or water your grass.

Why is it common for dehumider to frost up and then defrost?

To my knowledge this is not normal. It probably is a little low on refrigrent but to verify that be sure the air path is clean and the fan is operationg properly. Low air flow would also cause that type of problem.

Dehumid....ad70usso....runs all the time auto settings don't seem to working collects fine ..but won't turn off when air is dry thanks

There are 4 basic, but solvable reason for what you described. Please pay particular attention to numbers 1 & 2. Also, keep in mind, basements stay moister longer than upper rooms.

1. The humidity extraction level is set to HIGH. Lower it to 32-35% and disable the auto mode.

2. Air intake filter is dirty or clogged. Turn unit OFF, & Unplug the
Unit, before removing to inspect & clean it, if necessary. If washed,
allow filter to completely dry before reinstalling. DO NOT operate
the unit without the filter.

3. Obstructed air flow. Maintain a minimum of 12 to 18" of clear air
space around the entire unit.

4. Cooling coils are dirty and need to be cleaned. Use warm water & dish washing liquid to
clean the coils. Rinse and wipe dry. Apply a light coating of WD40 to the coils.

If none of the above solves the problem, it may be a case of the compressor needs to be recharged with refrigerant gas or that the humidity condenser sensor has failed. These things usually occur in units that are 5 years old or older. It's rare in a unit younger than that. But, it can happen.

I have had a m old problem in my apt. how can I keep the mold from growing in the dehumidifier? bonita

One thing that I have had good results with on controling mold and bacterial build up is to add a couple of ounces of chlorine bleach every month. You can purchase commercial products to do the same thing at most hvac supply stores. They do smell much better but are not cheap. Hope this helps you. Thanks

Comfort Air Dehumidifier BHD-501-1

Yes, you have a sealed system leak. Call the number in the book. I beleive that unit is manufactured by LG. You will need to have the unit diagnosed at an authorized LG repair provider. If the unit is under warranty, it will then be replaced by LG no charge, including the diagnostic. Make sure to bring in copies of the proof of purchase. The replacement unit will be shipped directly to you, and you will need to return your old unit, but shipping will be covered by LG with a pre-paid shipping label.

Good morning--my Comfort Aire dehumidifier will no longer run & is still under warranty. When I turn it on the red light just comes on.

May be power supply failure, faulty control panel or other problem. It may just need to be left unplugged overnight for reset.

The unit has started sweating cold water droplets on its top and in the last couple of days it has actually frozen.

Several possible problems. Filter clean? As strange as this may sound you may have lost a little refrigerant. If problem persists after filter is cleaned, then a Tech needs to look at it.

H20 POURS OUT OF THE UNIT BEFORE BUCKET IS FULL

It sounds like your unit is freezing up. Let it set for a day then set to run on the 3 hr cycle. Also rase the % of humidity to 60 or 65, and if it starts working lower the % setting in a few days by 5% increments until you get to the setting you want. Also read your owners manual troubleshooting section lots of good tips.
