To rewind, you simply push the rewind button. However, this does not rewind from the point you are at like a tape does, it goes to the beginning of the recording. Once you are in the play mode, pushing rewind will rewind from that point.
Jim, it may say it on the box, but as i found out today, this recorder does not allow the rewinding of live TV. In fact, it seems that few freeview+ boxes do, even if the box says so. I had to return a hdr255 to Argos today for this very reason.
When you put the player into rewind, is it at the beginning of the tape that it ejects? If so, it may be because you have the machine in timer mode. If you have a pre-recorded tape in a VCR, it will automatically eject the tape because you`ve not to record on a pre-recorded tape. I hope this help, Ian
You should use the computer with Digital Voice Editor software to have more options when trabscribing. You could then use the transcribing keys to playback your recordings and regulate the velocity of the playback.
Download Digital Voice Editor Version 3.1.03 for Windows Vista/XP/2000. 64 bit version operating systems are not supported, though
Unfortunately with this recorder, if he hits the stop button and rewinds it will go back to the beginning of the file. He may want to look at our DS-2300 or DS-2400 recorders as they both have a feature on them of a NEW button which will allow him to stay in the same file until he presses NEW to create the next recording.
by just pressing the rewind button, it goes to beginning. by press and holding down the rewind button, it will start rewinding slowly and get faster the longer it is being held down.
I have the same problem with mine and trying to figure what is the problem. Like you I've used it minimal times and it sat for a while and now I can't record anything. I hope some knows how to fix it without it costing an arm and a leg.
It could be that there is a separate motor for the rewind function, and
it may be in need of replacement. Also you should check the belts for
stretching/wear, as they have a direct impact on the speed.
Also, most new VCRs have a function that the tape rewind slows considerably when it senses that its close to the beginning of the tape. Its very possibly that your VCR has a defect in that sensing mechanism.
Good luck
