MSI MS-7060 ver 1 bios update

As old as this mainboard is, there would seem to be very little to be gained with a BIOS update. It will not provide any appreciable ability to upgrade components, and if you have used this board for any length of time successfully, updating the BIOS is questionable. Many people think that BIOS upgrades will solve all problems with the board....in most cases it only serves to fix bugs in the current BIOS, allow for a few later-models of the CPUs that are already approved for use, and upgrade firmware for the on-board amenities. Realistically, the only time a mainboard BIOS update is warranted is at purchase if there is reason to install the update to provide better performance. The risks of BIOS upgrade often outweigh the benefits; many of us are steadfast in the belief that "if it ain't broke, don't fix it".

Unknown processor - update BIOS - press F1 to continue

Hello jssingh

if the system boots but gives unknown processor message then it means you have to do what is says, that is to update your bios.

go to asus web site. www.asus.com

go to services ---> support ----> download

on the left hand side at the top enter your motherboard model number "P5SD2-VM".
under it choose Bios

the main board model will be listed and you be asked to choose an operating system. (choose any operating system. bios is independant of operating system)

look at the list all available bios versions. download the latest. it usually comes with the upgrade utility as well but you can download the utility anyway

you cal also try this link for your bios download
http://support.asus.com/download/download.aspx?SLanguage=en-us

format a floppy disk and make it bootabel (you can also use a usb flash drive or even a cd)
copy the files to it. start the computer and boot from it.
at command prompt type the afudos command and the new bios version.
follow the prompt. it will update the bios.

good luck. hope this has helped you.

My motherboard is MSI of MS-7267, I have no drivers plz send

Several slightly different motherboards have the part number "MS-7267", followed by an additional number, such as "200". These indicate different revisions of the board, which may have slightly different hardware on them.

For convenience, I have provided a link to one of these revisions below. Note that if it is not your specific model, some of the drivers may not work, and you should not attempt to upgrade your BIOS until you have verified your model.

http://www.msi.com/index.php?func=downloaddetail&type=driver&maincat_no=1&prod_no=1157

You can also use MSI's detector to determine your model.

I have had a motherboard failure the MS-7357 (V1.X) Mainboard... needing upgrade thinking of the MSI G41TM-E43 LGA 775 Intel G41 will i have to mess arround with the power switches with the case as this...

the ms, 7xyz series is a relic
all that matters is the size of mobo, to case
ATX or microATX
some or most cases (not oem) do both sizes
and none told by you case , maker and model
but just looking there under mobo shows what screw stub holes are there for both. or not.
the power switch is just 2 pins and easy to rewire.
the manual on both cover all that but no case told.
