I have a lg wm2277 front load washer and the liquid soap cup gets clogged and when I open the tray after the load is finished, it will be full of water. I have tried cleaning the cup but the white stuff is caked on and inside the tube area and I have to chisel the stuff off. Can I get a replacement cup?

Switch to powdered detergent. You'll be much happier in the long run. Liquid detergent leaves a residue. Eventually the residue mildews. Powered detergent leaves no residue. Plus you will solve your current issue. Also skip the softener and use plain white vinegar in its place. The vinegar helps eliminate mildew and it also helps release Dey from your clothes in the rinse cycle.

SOURCE: LG front loader problem

If you remove the top cover you will see the soap dispenser unit on the left. It has a large rubber hose connecting it to the drum. If you remove two screws at the front you can free the dispenser for maintenance. You can undo the clips on the various hoses and check that they are clean.

Some people report some dripping from the soap dispenser even when the hose is unblocked. This seems to be a design fault.

We had the same problem- for us it was because we were mixing laundry booster (Oxyclean) with liquid soap in the dispenser. It seems the water running through the tray had insufficient pressure to properly flush the tray out, so residue accumulated on the back & underside of the tray. Our water pressure is good here, and we don't use a water softener or filters that can reduce the pressure. Unfortunately it seems to just be a bad design of the soap dispenser tray.

We also had a problem with water/bleach leaking from our soap dispenser- when we used the bleach compartment in the dispenser we got leaks dripping onto the floor from behind the front cover of the washing machine. It was running down the front of the washer behind the front cover & coming out onto the floor. The repair guy said this was because the dispenser tray was pulled out too far, but the reason we were pulling the soap tray out so far was because the bleach compartment was too far back in the tray to use if we didn't. Now we just leave the drawer partially closed & pour the bleach directly into the soap compartment along with the soap.

SOURCE: LG WM2277HS - water backing up into soap dispenser

The pipe from the soap dispenser to the tub is quite large, it seems as if the water isn't getting out of the dispenser quick enough. Pull the whole dispenser out of the machine. There is a release clip at the back of the cup with the tray fully open. Clean out all soap residue and scum. Sometimes there is also a spot or setting for liquid or powder detergent. Adjust accordingly. Reassemble and try it again.

SOURCE: Fabric softener not draining

Remove the dispenser drawer by pushing down on the tab at the center back and pulling drawer out. Now, remove the top of the fabric softener compartment and the parts of the soap dispenser and clean them all out. An old toothbrush often helps. Reassemble and replace. They should siphon out now.

I bought my LG washer last year and it has a sticker that says use designed for HE ( High Efficiency) detergent I havent used any other detergent and do not have the problem that other are reporting on...

Congratulations. To prevent problems in the future remember this bit of wisdom from the swamp:

The correct amount is as follows:

HE: (2) Tablespoons Per Wash load

HE 2X (double concentrated) : (1) Tablespoon

HE 3X (triple concentrated): (1) Teaspoon

This reduces/prevents:

1) Musty Odor

2) "LE" Error/Interrupted Cycle

3) L-O-N-G Cycle Times (longer than time displayed)

4) Insufficient Cleaning Results

5) Small Water Leaks from the air vent behind the washer or at the
front door gasket

6) Damaged Hall Effect Sensor (on 2007 or older LG washers)

7) Reduced Spin Speeds (laundry not spin-dried effectively)

Most consumers were doing what is *normally* the right thing to do, which is to follow directions on the detergent label. In this rare case--those directions should be entirely disregarded.

Additionally--in many LG washers--the liquid dispenser cup (blue cup) has a "MAX" line on the white siphon cap.
This was a very big *faux pas* on LGs part--this "MAX" line has NOTHING to do with measuring detergent and should never be used as a guide for determining correct detergent amount.
The "MAX" line indicates how much liquid must be in the blue dispenser cup before it DISPENSES from the bottom of the cup.
This is a very, very frustrating mistake that gives owners much grief.
Print out this manual and keep it next to your washer. It might come in handy one day:

Problem

remove soap draw and strip apart as it is in need of a good clean as the liquids are taken by a syphoning process so the draining holes are clogged.

Water remains in the liquid detergent cup

This is by design. Water flows in and forces the detergent out. There will almost always be a little water left in the cup after a wash routine.

Soap in LG

Hello, to answer your question, it depends. Are you using liquid detergent or powder? How dirty are your clothes? How bulky are your clothes?
For average size clothes and normal dirt I use about a cup of powder. If the clothes are dirty and/or bulky I just hit the "water plus" button. These machines are so efficient you don't want too much soap, just add water.
If your using liquid make sure it's approved for front load washers and use it sparingly. The most I have put in is about half up on the dispensing cup in the washer. Remember to remove this if your using powder. Any more questions just ask. Good luck.

Lg washer wm2277

The "1e" is actually a LE or Load Error. Search for it on this site and you will find many responses covering it. Some can be somewhat serious, but the most common cause is drag on the drum due to too much and / incorrect soap. Always use HE (high efficiency detergent) and no more than one tablespoon per load.

I suggest you use soap powder for 'front loading washing machines'. The cartons at the market have them specially marked.
