Hi The trick is getting the old one off. Probably best to
remove the control from the unit so you can work on it. Clean the surface with isopropyl alcohol before applying
the new overlay. http://appliancejunk.com/ge/cookingproduct/31-9008.pdf Please get back to us if you have further query or else
please accept the solution. Thanks for contacting fixya.com
Be sure to mark any wires that may get confused with others or make yourself a
diagram.
Take your time and be fairly gentle you do not want to screw up the control
panel/board.
If isopropyl does nothing try varsol/ mineral spirits.

Thank you for the manual. The steps on page 13 are what I need. Step 4 seems to end strangely, though, with "...release it from the vent deflector while at the same time pull the" Do you have an ending for this step, and are there additional steps?
Thanks for your help.
Good evening. Page 13 contains the solution that I needed - thank you very much. Step 4 is incomplete, though, and there may be additional steps that are not listed. Do you have a complete description for this procedure?
The instructions on page 13 are the one I required, but they are incomplete.
Two requests for the remaining steps went unanswered. The additional steps would have included removing the ribbon cable, but that was obvious once the first 3 1/2 steps were followed.
Thanks for sending the most important steps for the removal, yet retaining some of the mystery.
Replacing the touch panel has resolved our F7 issue for now.
