I have a Minn Kota mk210A on board charger. I just connected it to charge the aux battery. The full charge and check connection lights are on but not the charging light. I've checked the connections and cleaned plug connections but still won't charge. What else can I do as it is a near new battery no more than 14 mths old. thanks Brad

SOURCE: minn kota problem

Hello Jim. You have lost your power some where. Start with the wire & terminal connections to the battery. Open the bottom of the foot pedal and check the wiring connections there. Note be very careful here for you have the battery still connected. You may have a fuse in line some where blown. You can check for voltage with a VOM(volt meter) on the wire terminals. Good Luck.

SOURCE: Removing Prop

There should be a retainer nut accessible at the rear of the prop (in the center of the prop. Remove this and the prop should slide off.

You need your serial number of the trolling motor, length of shaft, and thrust poundage.

or you could call Minn Kota direct and give them the same information at 800-227-6433.

To learn the ID number of additional remotes, follow these steps:

1.) Press and hold the LEARN button located on the side of the receiver (receiver will emit a continuous tone). A small blunt object must be used to depress the LEARN button (pen or screwdriver).

1.) Press any button on the remote (receiver will beep 4 times confirming that it has "learned" the ID number of the remote and that the programming is valid and complete).

I have a Minn Kota 315D 3 bank charger. When I plug it in to my electrical outlet only bank 1 shows a solid yellow light. I am not getting power to bank 2 and 3.

A solid yellow light on Bank 1 of your Minn Kota 315D 3 bank charger indicates that the charger is in "float" mode, which means it is maintaining the battery's charge at a safe level. It sounds like there may be an issue with the connections or wiring for Banks 2 and 3, preventing them from receiving power.
Here are a few things you can try:
  • Check the connections between the charger and the batteries for Banks 2 and 3 to ensure they are tight and secure.
  • Ensure that the circuit breaker for the charger is not tripped.
  • Check the wiring for Banks 2 and 3 for any visible damage or corrosion.
  • Ensure that the batteries for Banks 2 and 3 are not in a low state of charge or are not faulty.
  • Try to reset the charger by unplugging it from the power source and plug it back in after a few minutes.

Why does the red indicator light stay on when I connect to the battery?

That battery may be completely toast, Jacob. Or... it might just be the silly "smart" electronics - an old-style basic battery charger may be able to recover that battery.

How to wire up 24v minn kota to batterys

if you are trying to wire the batteries for teh 24 volt motor then you need to connect the positive of one battery to the negative of the other battery. then connect the trolling motor to the remaining two terminal of the batteries.

if you are trying to connect the charger to the batteries then each battery should have its own set of wire coming from the charger.these wires should be connected to the batteries in a set not crossed between batteries.

Hello Brad / Colee

The voltage converter in the charger has gone out (violently). Do not use this charger in your craft anymore. There is no longer any kind of guarantee of isolation, and galvanic corrosion may be accelerated if the boat is sitting in the water and you try to charge batteries.

Replace the charger. Your craft and your lives aren't worth the risk. You can try contacting Minn Kota to see if there might be some kind of warranty assistance.
