My CF-S9 which is brand new just shut off while typing a document and will not turn back on at the moment despite being plugged in. It seems "dead".

Easy turn off all the screws from the pc and then change the hard disk drive and try install again the system new coment please !

Yes, I'm using U700 Samsung unit also. It's only in the gallery where you could retrieved a newly shut picture. I may suggest that you visit a Samsung office or to an accredited samsung service center. Thank you for asking.

If not then you need to install it,
If so, then you need to insert your samsung new pc studio cd, and it will come up with a flash autorun menu. Click install samsung drivers.

Turns out a CF ER is a Compressor Fan problem.
Had a look and the fan was not turning, although it spins freely. Apparently it's a 3 phase 12v fan. I was able to get a resistance measurement across it but didn't know what to expect.
This also explains why it seemed a bit quieter and why the water is a bit warmer sometimes. The valve for the water dispenser is right beside the fan and it's getting pretty hot in there at the moment.

Try clean debris filter locate in front of the machine.

According to Canon, Error code 02 means that "There is a problem with the CF card. Try any of the following: Remove and re-insert the CF card. Format the CF card, use a different CF card."

Are both CF cards the same brand? Sometimes some brands have conflicts with the camera, you might try using two different brands.

It may not be the card, did you try on the third attempt to remove the battery and put it back in? There may be a problem with the contact points where the CF card plugs into the camera, or in the transfer system itself.

I had the same symptoms. I took it to an authorized Canon repair shop. For $150, they resoldered connections on my 'power supply board'.  No idea why the solder gave out. It's working great now.
