This could be a heat issue. If the pc is a desktop, try running it with the case open and randomely feeling the heat sink to make sure it is not getting incredibly hot. It will get hot, but not usually hot enough to burn you, if it does, then you have a heat issue and your fan is not turning at the speeds it should be, or your heat sink might be full of dust, etc.

Also if the heat sink stays within good temps but the pc still kicks off, It may be your power supply, In that case I recommend purchasing one from, any of the logisys power supplies seem to be pretty good from my experience. A logisys psup is typically around $24-28 before shipping. This only applies if your pc is a standard desktop, If its a mini or a laptop these power supplies won't fit.

Test all leads that attach to your hard drive including electrical extensions,IDE,SATA

the leads from your ((motherboard to your hard drive)) make sure they have a secure connection and are not faulty or just replace them they could be faulty
make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd have secure connections and are not faulty or just replace them they could be faulty ?

even something as small as an electrical extension or a faulty fan lead can cause this problem computer needs all of the data and power to travel through every working device and to have an end for a computer to be able work properly

a motherboard and a hard drive any leads between them will fail before your motherboard or your hard drive check all electrical extensions make sure they are securely seated even the cd/dvd drives need to have current go through make sure these devices are working

could be a dirty graphics card you might have remove the graphics card and clean the socket

also check your computer ram and cmos battery to make sure they are securely seated and the battery has plenty of charge
hope this helps you

Not being an electronics expert i would have to say this is bad, and not your power supply but your entire motherboard. The only times i have seen this with these problems the fix was a new motherboard. The hot glue is fluid from the capacitors when they overheated and blew up. But somebody else out there might now more then me about electronics so maybe they will have a different answer. sorry.

Dryer doesn't get hot. It will ignite, get warm then goes cold

I would suspect the valve coils. they will work for a short time and then fail, cool off and work again. very easy to replace.

Would not boot Processor pins appear undamaged

  • Check for shorts and overloads inside computer by removing nonessential items such as extra controller cards and IDE/ATAPI devices and turning the computer on to see if it starts to boot. Leave the motherboard, power supply, RAM or processor. If the problem goes away, there was a short or overload with one of the components that you just removed or one of those components is faulty. Replace each of those one at a time until you isolate which is causing the problem. If the problem still occurs after removing the nonessential components, the problem has to be with the motherboard, power supply, RAM or processor.

  • Remove the processor and RAM and reinstall them to make sure that they are installed correctly.
  • If the problem still persists, swap the RAM with known good RAM. In addition, test the suspected RAM in another known working system.
