If you convert it to a .MKV you can create a subrip format .srt files using notepad and then merge it into the video using MKVtoolnix. It is probably a .mpg file like my Samsung and Canon cameras so MKVtoolnix can load it and out put it into a .mkv format container without recoding it since .MKV supports that codec. You can the .srt during conversion on in a second step. I would recommend using two step to avoid or correct any errors since you are unlikely to syncronize everything correct the first time.
You can see samples of the structure of the .srt text files at the wikipedia page at "http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SubRip". It is a very simple format and it's a text file not binary so it's easy to create your own from scratch.
srt file is subtitle for video and played with a movie.
You can open and view an .srt file with a subtitle editor program like Subtitle Creator or open via webbrowser.
You cant play subtitles with .m2st try .mkv, .avi and .MP4 it would work for sure. there is a problem with the LG players they don't integrate the subtitles well. sometimes u might observe lag also!!
If you already name the subtitle file (.srt) with the same name of movie file (avi, mpeg, mkv etc) all you have to do is press green button on the remote control the turn on/off the subtitle. It works for me.
It seems that subtitle file must have exactly same name as movie file.
For example:
Movie file: Mission impossible.avi
Subtitle file: Mission impossible.srt or Mission impossible.sub
or
Movie file: Mission_impossible.avi
Subtitle file: Mission_impossible.srt
