TV - DVD Interference Problem

Tune the DVD/VCR to "channel 3".

Dear hugoreyes456,
On the rear side of your DVP3345VB you should find a bunch of RCA connectors. There is a column on the right side with the title VCR - AUDIO IN - VIDEO IN.
May I ask you to try plug your cable box to this connectors and the DVP3345VB to your TV.
Before trying it, may I ask you to check that you get video directly from the DVP to your TV when playing a DVD or a VHS tape?

I had the same problem, no sound. Just a picture. Check the cables you have running from the VCR to the TV. They may be plugged to the TV incorrectly.

I would suspect dirt, either on the disc itself or in the player. The discs and laser head need to be clean to do their job properly. If they are too dirty to operate correctly the machine simply gives up trying as though there were no disc loaded at all.

Most likely you have the dvd part connected through component or svideo cables. Despite the fact that this is one unit, like other vcr/dvd combo units it acts as two separate units in the same box. The vcr will probably not play through those cables. As you have audio coming through I'd imagine that the audio is connected using red and white composite cable. Connect the video on the vcr side with composite yellow cable or run direct to tv with a coaxial cable.

At least a couple of possibilities, check the yellow video cable that runs from the VCR to the TV, is it plugged into the side of the combo unit that says vcr?

Is your TV on the right source? You could have plugged the audio into say AV2 and the video into AV1, causing a mismatch. Make sure the yellow, red, and white are all plugged into one input section on the TV (AV1, AV2, Video 1, Video 2, etc).

first let me say that a dvd player and a dvd recorder are different. the dvd player can only play dvd while a dvd recorder can both play and record dvd that is said. what i understand from what you write is currently is - out of your tv box into your dvd player then out of your player into your tv........ ok some dvd has two connections. line one and line two if your tv box is in line one then you should plug the rca cable in line two in. then you select line two on the dvd player then plug the other end to your vcr in line out so that is out of your vcr into line two of your dvd player.(some times one of the connection is at the front of your player hidden) if your dvd player only have one connection then you would have to plug out your tv box and replace it with the vcr cable and when you finish coping your vhs tape you plug in back your tv box to your dvd player. hope i could help.......... an easy first step is to check and make sure that you don't have any other rf interference. make sure that all radios, laptops, pcs, routers, etc.. .are not nearby. they can cause interference. A second idea requires knowing how you have it connected and what other types of equipment you have connected to the tv itself

You have your DVD connected to your VCR, which is then connected to your TV, right? The problem is Macrovision. It's designed to prevent you from connecting your DVD player to your VCR, so that you can't make duplicates of copyrighted movies. It's a real pain in the neck. Try turning the DVD player off - or better yet, unplugging its power cord (as some DVD players are always in a standby mode, even when turned off). If that fixes the problem, then you need to reconnect your DVD player directly to the TV, not wired through the VCR. If your DVD player isn't wired through the VCR, are you using some kind of wire splitter (one cable branches into two) to connect both the DVD player and VCR? That can also cause this kind of interference, if both have power at the same time. There are video switches you can get to work around that.
