Webroot:
This solution addresses Spy Sweeper 6.1 and Webroot 2011 (version 7.0)
The Webroot Client Service must be running on your computer in order for Webroot software updates to function. If your updates are failing, follow the steps below to make sure the Client Service is started on your computer.
- Follow the instructions for your operating system.
For Windows XP:
- Click the Start button, then click Run. The Run box opens.
- In the Run box type services.msc and press OK. The Services window opens.
For Windows Vista or 7:
- CI'm getting an error from - windows_7_start_button.pngages/windows_7_start_button.png" alt="windows_7_start_button.png" class="h_mi" /> or the Start button.
- Type services.msc in the Start Search box and press the enter key. The Services window opens.
- In the Services window, scroll down and locate Webroot Client Service.
- Right-click on the entry for Webroot Client Service and choose Properties from the menu that appears. The Properties box for the service will open.
- In this window, locate the Startup type. If it is set to Disabled, use the drop-down menu to change the setting to Automatic and click OK.
- Close the Services window.
