When i start up my dell laptop it says disk erro so i preesed diagnose and it said error code 2000-0146 how can i fix this?

Try dell forums at ddell.com and dell europe.com. people on those will have the expertise to diagnose your problem. You might get lucky on here but for dell machines that is the place to look, information available there is very comprehensive.

That code is a Windows boot error. I'm not sure what you can do with the Dell OS media stick but the traditional solution with a regular hard disk is to take a Windows 7 OS disk, boot with it, and run startup repair. Here's a link to Startup Repair: Startup Repair Microsoft Windows

this error message can be caused by a few things

if you want to know what this is the error code is related to

click start control panel administrative tools computer management then select event viewer this may vary depending on what operating system you have

extend the events there you will see errors in red you will no what exactly what the error was and at what time it occured

you might be able work your way through the problem

If you know how to use disk tools provided by HD manufatuer, NOT Dell, please run advanced test.

If it's fixable it will fix, Otherwise, you have to replace it.

If you laptop is under warranty, I will go for.

Hi ! Error code is this error code 2000 - 0146??? if that is the error message you have to contact dell technical support to replace the hard drive because that error code mean that the hard drive is already faulty. You can Reinstall the Hard drive as well but it is not guarantee that it will fix the issue. Most of the time dell will send a hard drive replacement for that kind of message if the system is still in warranty it will be free but if not you have to pay for the replacement. First look up the code in Microsoft web site. This will tell you what kind of erro it is. then follow the instrution

Pleae reboot your system and when you see the Dell logo , press the F12 key a couple of times .
In the menu, select only HDD diagnostics and post the results back . If the harddrive fails, then the only solution would be to replace the same. If the hardrive passes , we may be able tp fix the system
