Do you mean the VT2430? Viewsonic doesn't list a VY2430.

For my Viewsonic TV, first make sure that your input is TV. (Press the Input button on the remote (upper left) or the TV (furthest right). Use the arrow keys or multiple presses of Input to change the current input.) Next press Menu. Use the up/down arrows to navigate to the TV menu (the icon looks like a TV). Press Enter. Set the type of incoming TV signal (Cable or Air or let the tv figure it out with Auto). Then go down to the line labeled AutoScan and press Enter. You may be prompted to begin the scan or to select the type of channels to scan. Press Enter again after making the selection.

Viewsonic has the manual for the VT2430 available on their site: http://www.viewsonic.com/products/vt2430.htm#tabbox_downloads . The direct link is http://www.viewsonic.com/assets/041/11502.pdf .

I hope this helps.

Tune my viewsonic n3246w tv

First make sure that the current input Source is set to TV to see the option for scanning for channels. There is a Source button on the front of the TV. (It's on the right side as you look at the front of the TV.) The Source button on the original remote is on the left side below the number keys. There are two RF (coaxial) cable inputs near the VGA port on the back of the TV. The digital RF signal needs to go to the port above the VGA port.

To scan for analog channels, press the Menu button. Then navigate to the TV setup option with the Up/Down arrows. Press OK to enter the menu. You can use either the Auto search or the Manual search. However, the Auto will be faster. You can set your country or leave it to Auto. Navigate to Start and press OK for the Auto-scan. There is a DTV menu button above the Volume + button on the remote. Use this menu and look for the Installation section to scan for channels. Again there is an Auto or Manual option.

ManualsLib has the manual for the Viewsonic N3246W here: https://www.manualslib.com/manual/306714/Viewsonic-N3246w.html. See page 23 for the start of the analog TV channel scan information. See page 30 for the digital TV scan.

I hope this helps.

(For any channel provided by a set-top box, you will not be able to use the TV to store the channel lists.)

Cannot get audio on one channel

Which make/model TV do you have? Are you watching an OTA signal or cable signal?

On my Viewsonic N1930W, I had a period where certain OTA VHF channels had no audio. The UHF channels were fine. The steps I used to reset the TV: unplug for a while. After reconnecting the power, go to the Tools (Options) menu and then reset the TV to the defaults. Then I did a new channel scan for OTA channels. On my TV, the menu is called Options but the icon is a wrench and a hammer in an X. Thus I call it Tools. The Restore Default option is at the bottom of the list in that menu. The reset command triggers several "Are you sure prompts?" Pressing the Enter key on the remote after highlighting Yes is required. After the reset, I can go to the Channel menu and select Auto Scan after making sure that it is set for Air as the source.

If you post a comment with the details of your TV, I may be able to give the steps to reset your TV.

I hope this helps.

(I spent several days trying different solutions and did e-mail Viewsonic support on the problem.)

We have a 21 inch ViewSonic TV and when we switched cable carries we were told we had to do an auto scan. We do not have a manual to show us how to accomplish this task. Can you please direct us on...

Which specific TV model do you have?

I have a 19" N1932W by Viewsonic. I'll give you the steps for mine. First make sure that your input is set to TV. (Press the Input button on the remote or the TV. (My unit has Input at the upper left of the remote or the farthest right button on the TV.) Press repeatedly or use the arrows to get to TV.) Next press Menu on the remote or the TV (furthest left on the TV or below the arrow keys on the right of the remote). Use the left/right arrow keys to navigate to the Channel submenu (the icon on my TV looks like a satellite dish) and press Enter. Navigate down to the TV source line and make sure that it is set to cable with the left/right arrows (if needed). Then go to the line labeled Autoscan and press Enter. You may see an "Are you sure?". In that case select Yes and press Enter again. Another possible question is what type of channels to search (analog, digital, or All). Select the appropriate choice and press Enter again. Wait for the scan to be completed.

On some Viewsonic models, the source and autoscan options are in the TV submenu. The rest of the directions will be the same.

I hope this helps.

Auto scan doesn't find any channels

Make sure it is set to cable mode when searching and that the cable is secure in the back.

Incomplete Auto Scan of the channels

I ran the Auto Scan. Before the scan reached 91%, I pressed the Menu button on my remote and all of the channels that it found locked in.

I cannot find hdtv channels on my viewsonic n1930w hdtv monitor, but it does find them on my vizio 22'' hdtv monitor. Am I doing something wrong

Are you trying to get the HD signal from the roof antenna or from cable? when you set the tuner to scan for channels make sure it is set for 'CABLE' if you are on cable, or 'AIR' if using roof antenna.

Channels are different than my old tv!

you may be able to do a manual scan ion each channel which is similar to auto scan.
Its normal for auto scan to select random channels when scanning.

Can't pick up all the signals

I always tell people to carefuly read their instruction manual and consult the product tech support before determing that there is actualy a fault with their unit.

If sounds like the tuner module or the controler board for the tuner may be failing, or there is a power supply distribution fault to the tuner section and or its controler. This has to be service by the manufacture.

One of the criteria I recommend when people buy an expensive appliance or TV is to make sure that there is local authorized service. I also recommend an extended warrany for expensive items. The warranty is like insurance. You may or may not need to collect!

LCD 32 inch Auto Scan issue

I have experienced exactly the same issue on two Westinghouse sets. Try turning the set off when it reaches 83%. When I turn mine off and back on, it has saved the channels -- at least the ones it had found before it got hung up.
