How to I eject a tape that won't eject. I left it in for awhile and when I turn on the camera it says eject tape. When I push the button it won't eject. Is there another way to trigger the eject mechanism so I can remove the tape?

It sounds like your camera is experiencing a mechanical issue with the tape mechanism. Here are a few steps you can take to try and resolve the problem:
Power off the camera: Turn off the camera and remove any power sources, such as the battery or AC adapter. This will ensure the camera is completely powered down.
Eject the tape: Look for a manual eject button or lever on the camera. It's usually located near the tape compartment or on the side of the camera. Press or slide the eject mechanism to try and release the stuck tape. Be gentle and avoid using excessive force.
Gently assist the tape: If the tape doesn't eject smoothly, you can try gently assisting it using a small, non-metallic object like a toothpick or a plastic tool. Carefully insert the object into the tape compartment and try to guide the tape back into the cassette while the eject mechanism is activated. Again, be gentle to avoid damaging the tape or the camera.
Reset the camera: After removing the tape or resolving any potential jam, reinsert the power source (battery or AC adapter) and turn on the camera. This can sometimes reset the internal mechanisms and restore normal functionality.
If the above steps don't resolve the issue, it's advisable to contact the manufacturer's support or a professional camera repair service for further assistance. They have the expertise to diagnose and repair mechanical problems with the camera's tape mechanism. Make sure to provide them with all the relevant details about the issue and the steps you've already taken to troubleshoot it.
sir,
If any of your electronics system not using for long period, remember this things( detach the battery or power source , take out cassette or memory card, if the unit use in built chargeable battery, charge it occasionally.
just connect to the power, you don"t power on your camera, the charging light will flicker then push the eject button, remember do not on the power of your cam, hop that this will solve your problem.
The mechanism transport need work to allow the unit to get back to the stop/Eject cam position. Without that the deck is not going to work. This is usually but not always due to a small rubber belt. That is not all that is needed but the primary reason for that failure.
I have a DCR-HC32. I left mine out in the rain. It would not power on. There is a reset button on the side of the eject tape door. I held this in for 5-10 seconds, the camera beeped and I was then able to eject the tape. This was after I put the camera in the freezer over night since I left it out and it got wet. My touch screen doesn't work. I already bought a new camera.
Take the battery out and turn selection switch to camera and then turn it off. Put the battery back in and its working again.
if that doesn't work try
Try smacking the side of the camera relatively hard with the palm of your hand. Eject the tape and reinsert. You may need to do this a couple of times. good luck
please mark the post with a fixya
Same problem here with the Samsung D963 (DV cam). I discovered that if you cycle the tape loader without a tape and then load a tape the gremlins leave. At least on mine, the camera doesn't stop for an eject anymore. Hope this helps veryone with this stupid problem. Now if I could just fix the damned battery life....
You cannot tell if the switch for the eject is broken on the printed circuit boar, or the switch knob may only be internally broke unless you take the camcorder apart. I have seen just the knob break off inside and this know is only a few bucks + the labor, and thats what ia going to cost the most.
