I recently moved my Toshiba Theaterwide projection screen tv from the bedroom to the living room. When I reattached the cabels for the HD cable, I have a picture but no sound. It is currently attached with a DVI cord, but I have also tried regular component cables to no avail. I have also reset the cable box to HD sound instead of Dolby Digital, and it still won't work. I went through the TV's audio menu, and double checked that the speakers are on, and they are. I made sure nothing was muted accidentally, and turned the volume all the way up on both the tv and cable box. As a test, I hooked up my playstation, and that doesn't have sound either, so I know that it is something to do with the tv. Any ideas? I am completely lost.
You can check the user manual for some troubleshooting tios about this problem and also try resetting the audio part of the TV its on page 42 of the user manual if resetting the audio still didn't fix the problem reset the entire unit you can also see the steps from the user manual http://www.tacp.toshiba.com/tacpassets-images/models/50hp16/docs/50hp16_om_e.pdf
Hope that helps.............
Hello Iam wondering have you tried to see under the TV setting Audio and see if the fuctions are muted
or try to unplugged the tv and wait for a few minutes plug it back in.
Also when th tv is turn back on or unplugged and plugged back in see if the power button light
flashes red
And listen to the speakers to see if there is a faint crackling

We have a sound bar a Samsung HW E450 that is connected to our TV using basic audio cable (r/w), but there is a second or so delay between sound and picture. The 3 HMDI cables on the TV are all IN, not outs.. wondered if anyone had a solution for reducing/removing the delay
