I just had this happen and it was followed by a "fire" inside the box! I pulled it apart and found that the amplifier was melted. I have taken it out(do have experiance with soldering) and just need a replacement part...anyone know what/where to get this?

If theres a headphone jack plug in a set og headsets. if the sound is there then you know that your speaker is bad. if its not make sure the volume indicator goes up and listen closely to the speaker. Do you here static noises?? NO? ok then its a problem with the audio output IC built in to the set and this is probably something you cant repalce unless your experenced with soldering printed curcuit boards. If you here staic or a small his then the volume contrpl curcuit or the audio if is defective and this as well is not something you can diagnoise unless you know how to troubleshoot electronics. Good Luck

How do I hook up a dvd player to a sansui tvm1915c when my dvd player has only rca outlets and the tv only has one coax outlet?

Coax to RCA? Not possible considering coax cable provides sound and audio and RCA jacks split them as 3 different outputs. The only way to Solve this would be to get a converter not adaptor. You're gonna have to convert coax signal into digital. You may be able to get away with a converter for the digital antennas they have now that your tv requires to get local channels. Perhaps if you can go red white and yellow RCA into the converter then coax out to the tv or something around those lines, however between me and you it will cost the exact same to buy a converter as it will to buy a 5 dollar TV on Craigslist that already has these settings and inputs built into the TV. People feel bad for throwing out a tv that still works, but it's very common, maybe even for free off craiglist . Good luck!

Our sansui tv has a sound problem. It's like a

The short answer would be yes. A more detailed answer can follow if you can update this with the model number. If you are getting just a hum without any other sound, the problem may be a poor connection inside the set. It is possible that the audio amplifier IC has failed as well. You can narrow this down a bit by connecting the audio output form the back of the set to a receiver. If the sound from that is OK, then the problem is likely to be the audio amp. This Ic generally costs around $20 or so.

No surround sound

Your not goingto achive true dobly sound you need a HDMI solution for this and hence you dvd player is rather old since it does not use HDMI if you want true HDMI sound you need to purchase a DVD with HDMI outputs to the TV

You'll most likely need a Sansui remote made to work with your specific model TV. I have similar problems with my Toshiba TV. Check eBay.
