Coleman Powermate Subaru 5000W Portable Generator Logo
Posted on Sep 05, 2011

Haven't started it since 6/13/08. Tried for IRENE,went through step by step but pull after pull and no start. In 08 added stabilizer ,but now fuel smells bad. Book says clean carburetor;see engine manuel. Is there anything on line to show me how to do this?

Robin/Subaru post all their engine stuff on their website. If you poke around you should find a PDF owners manual, parts manual, and the service manual. Service manual should have what you need. Definitely drain all the gas, clean spark plug, and change oil as well.

Someone tried to steal my 2008 Jeep patriot and now my headlights don't work and my heat doesn't seem to be as hot. There wasn't any wires or noticeable damage from the steering column except...

I'd say so! THey probably tried to start it by pulling wires under the dashboard like on television. Check the wires coming out of the headlight switch to see if one or more isn't pulled off. Also check around the stearing post for the wire that connects the high beam/low beam switch. The heater is another problem. Is the heater fan working? If so the problem mis the thermostat control...check that it still opens/closes the valve on the hot water hose that goes into the dashboard core.

I foolishly left the choke on my 1 day old Powerstroke 6000 generator in the start position all day and now it won't start... What do I do?

Mr. Worley you could never be more right!!! I had a similar problem (no start to my PowerStroke Generator 6000W). Added some Stabil, shook it around a bit and waited. Shook again and it started (after several pulls) runs like new. The only thing I noticed was the lever where you would slide to START has to be slid halfway between START and RUN, but please ask me if I care......NOT! as long as it runs! Side note: Oil, Spark Plug, Air Filter changed prior to adding Stabil (cause it can't hurt), I'm not that carefree!! Thanks Mr. Worley!!

Problem disassembling Stabilizer from Samsung Refrigerator RT-24BDWI

There is no stabilizer on a RT 24 BDWI, I would say the PCB is faulty, before replacing, check the defrost element, this is the usual cause of PCB fail on this model, not too costly but well worth replacing if replacing PCB, replace the element then test the unit, if still no go, replace the PCB. ...Russ

2006 Honda Shadow won't start. Gas tank filled. Sat 8 mo. Gas leaked out but not into engine. No sign of external leak. into

1. Drain the gasoline.
2. Remove the carb bowl(s) and turn on the petcock to drain the fuel in the lines.
3. Clean out the carb bowl(s) and replace.
4. Refill with gasoline, add 1 oz of Seafoam fuel system cleaner (I'm not a sponsor, I just haven't found anything better) to each gallon of gas. This will stabilize your fuel as well as do a great job of cleaning out the carb(s).
5. Try to start it.

If it still won't start, begin the standard troubleshooting procedure by first pulling a spark plug and turning it over to ensure gas is getting to the cylinder. If so, replace the plug, hold the plug wire slightly away from the plug and turn it over to ensure a spark jumps between the wire and plug. If so, it starts getting complicated. Buy a manual for the bike if you don't have one and follow the troubleshooting steps there.

Eu1000i runs and cuts off.....pump is good

If you haven't had it started for a while and have left gas in it, you probably have old/bad gasoline. Drain it and put new gas in. It may have clogged the fuel filter with rust and sediment from the old gas. Next time, put "Sta-bil" in it when you store it for the season, it will stabilize your gas.

What's your problem?my 2002 cadillac deville pulls back while driving and the dash board lights up with stability system engaged

You have Malfunction Indicator Lamp lite on your dash,
I assume for some time & ask if you have checked for the
ABS Braking System Codes, since the Stability Light is on

I will assume you have no owners manual & haven't given
much thought to going to a repair shop within a couple of days
of any vehicle issue

Need the codes, then have a shop diagnose that systems problems

Could be a Wheel Speed Sensor,or not

My poulan chain saw sat for about 2 yrs with gas in it. I emptied the tank, put new gas in it along with a carburator cleaner but it will not start. lost the manual for it and don,t know which position to...

Empty out the gas and replace with proper gasoline mixed with oil in the proper proportion. Always use a good quality 2-cycle oil that contains a fuel stabilizer.
To start the generic chainsaw, follow these steps:
1. Pull the choke all the way out
2. Press the fuel bulb serveral times to prime the carb - you can feel when the fuel flows into it.
3. Set the lock on the trigger to full speed.
4. Now, pull the starter rope until the saw sounds like it tried to start.
5. Press the choke in to the 1/2 way position.
6. Pull the rope until it starts.
7. Release the trigger lock and push the choke all the way in.

If starting it when it is warn, skip steps 1 and 4.
It is unlikely that the spark plug is the problem. If you replace it without properly setting the gap, you may make it worse. If you start trying to adjust the carb without knowing exactly what you are doing, you will make it much worse, You can try spraying some carb cleaner into the carb and pulling the rope to such the cleaner into the jets.
In the future, always add fuel stabilizer or oil with a stabilizer to you gas/oil mix. This prevents the varnishing caused by aging gasoline.
