Without more information of your speakers and amps we can't really help you. The Mackie board puts out line-level signals and that should drive any connected amp or powered speaker to the full capability. Make sure you are using BALANCED interconnect lines either XLR or TRS cables. Use of TS unbalanced cables costs you 6 DB and also noise pickup. Make sure ALL your gear, amps, speakers etc are powered from a SINGLE receptacle or power conditioning module. Normally you will use the AUX outputs of the mixer by way of TRS cables or balanced lines in a snake to power amplifiers onstage which then connect to the stage monitors. If you have powered monitors the returns of the aux to the stage go to the powered monitors. A heavy duty extension cord brings power back from thee stage power to the mixer.

Upon opening the mixer, you might find that the preamp boards are

similar , use the running board as a guide in troubleshooting .

On most are the XLR inputs with phantom supply.

MUFFLED SOUND, STATIC FEEDBACK AT HIGH VOLUMES

Check the sound in the headphones... It may be your power amps are giving out. MAKE SURE the interconnect cables are either XLR or TRS cables (balanced line). Make sure your power amps and the mixer are ALL powered from the same receptacle OR power conditioner module. You cannot power the amps from one end of a building room and the mixer frrom a wall receptacle at the other end. The building ground bounce can not only cause noise, but can destroy sensitive input circuits of the equipment.

We have no Volume control on any of the mic's the master and the volume controls for each mic does not work. we have to use the trim to control the volume.

Possibly you are using the audio from the subs or the Aux which are NOT controlled by the slide faders?

Sometimes users turn up the stage monitors to the point they can't control enough with the mains.

Make sure your system passes the audio to the amps from the XLR plugs for the mains on the back AND you use BALANCED lines to do so.

I cant get my mackie 2404 VLZ3 to record any audio? I have the board setup to record from the master but no audio comes into my computer. What to do next?

check your cables, on some Mackie boards press the switch to enable master out, make sure the mute or cancle button is not pressed. i have a 2404 vlzpro mixer it's simular to yours, if you have any problems, you can call Mackie direct if the issue is not solved, it could be a bad button, fuse or slide controle, or even a fuse

Hooking up powerd monitors to a Mackie 1604 VLZ3

Are you sending the main mix to the monitors or are you giving them their own mix? What about using the sub groups, use 1 for your monitor send.
