Look for any jammed button on your remote or on the TV. Just recheck on the settings and if necessary change it to factory default settings. If you have problem still, switch off TV, switch off Power and remove plug and wait for 48 hours and retry.
First you should be able to check with your cable provider and get a list of acceptable remotes or tell you what code you should "plug in" to your remote. Also I believe Logitech makes several good generic remotes for about $50.
I don't have DTV anymore, so I don't remember the exact code I used for my SK-32H240S, However, I do remember that I found one that worked at this site. Scroll down to locate your remote series # - it most likely will be printed on the upper left corner of the front of the remote - as an example, mine says RC64. Click on the corresponding listing, then follow the directions on the site. I tried only a few codes before finding one that worked correctly. Good luck.
