In order (stop if one works):
1. Recharge at least an hour from power adaptor rather than USB computer lead.
2. Reset by holding down Sleep/Wake button on top right of tablet while at the same time pressing down home button. Keep both depressed 15 seconds. If slider appears or screen dims, keep pressing till Apple appears.
3. Restart (display not working) by pressing and holding Sleep/Wake button till power off slider appears. Drag slider to right. Wait 2 minutes. Press and hold Sleep/wake button till Apple appears.
4. Recovery Mode. With device powered down, hold sleep/wake button down and drag slider to off position. Then plug USB into a computer (do not have usb cable connected to iPad yet) running latest version of iTunes. Hold down Home button while plugging USB cable into iPad. Keep Home button down until Connect to iTunes appears. If does not appear, start Recovery Mode procedure again. When Lightning cable, arrow, and iTunes appears, release Home. Click OK to restore to factory defaults (erases data). Restore data from earlier backup. (Summary of method from Phone Cruncher site.)
Some advice too late for this problem: Always have your device powered with a cord for updates to operating systems.
With your charged device, again hold the power button and the "Home Circle" until you see a white Apple logo. Release the buttons and let it open up. That should have "Reset" your iPad.
This may be an issue with the motherboard, and may need to be fixed by Apple. What you can try first however, is entering DFU Mode and restoring as normal.
To reset your iPad, just press the on / off switch (on top of the iPad) and the home button (in the centre on the bottom) simultaneous and wait till the screen goes blank and the apple loge appears. Then you can release both buttons. Wait till the apple logo is gone and 10 seconds later you can switch on the iPad with the on / off button.
That should be enough.
If this does not work like you expect, see what Apple has to say to do a "deeper" (Factory) reset. Be aware you will lose all data. When you do connect the iPad to your computer regularly and you have a backup in iTunes, this is great, because you then can restore everything like it was last time you connected to the computer. Turn your iOS device off and on restart and reset
hard reset, press power button on top and front button at the same time till it shuts down, 5-10 seconds, then turn on normally, if not fixed, hard reset, and do a restore from iTunes and your computer
Plug your ipad into your computer. Then hold the lock button and the home button together for 10 seconds then just let go of the lock button keeping the home button held down until a message apears saying ipad is in recovery mode. The only option available will be restore do the restore and it should be ok. Also check you have the latest version of itunes. Hope this helps.
You need to update your tablet, or update the programming on your tablet. Apparently all the android 2.2 tabs are considered "legacy" models and don't support the newest google and java script. Since this is what the net primarily uses, those of us with the Cruz are hosed.
Does the ipad charge when in the mains power? It might be in safe mode, press the power and home buttons together for around 10 seconds, then the power button alone and see what happens,
