Our panasonic Plasma TV goes to a total black screen for about 2-4 seconds then comes back on. Is something going bad that can be replaced? It is happening more often now. It has occurred over the last year.

Plasma screen does not come on and power supply board is bad

When the Plasma TV is plugged in, there're a fewindications of normal operation. Knowing this will help usunderstand what's going on with the unit when anabnormality occurs.1.There is a click from the relaysRL402andRL403when they are activated.2.The LED in the Optical Jack inside the DT board turns on for approx. 4seconds.3.Immediately after that, one of the Tuner LEDs (Right) turns on(Solid Red)for approximately 20 seconds.4.The LED in the Optical Jack inside the DT board turns on again for approx.1 second and both LEDs (tuner and optical jack) turn off.5.Then you will hear another click from the relaysRL402andRL403indicating that they are no-longer engaged. (Note: At this time the Tunerand the Optical Jack LED turn off.)5

Panasonic TC-P42X1 acts like it is turning on, the screen turns black, then the tv shuts itself off and back on again.

Rule out any loose contacts in power outlet, RC Jack, cables and connectors. The problem described by you calls for opening the back cover and further investigation, which should only be done by a qualified service technician.

Screen went black on Vizio 42" plasma TV

The cost to repair it might not be a worry, parts for those types of sets are not available, the plasma style sets are replaced by LCD/LED.

Plasma tv screen goes black once you turn it on. Only sound

I have a panasonic TH-42PX60U plasma TV. When I watch TV programing I have no problems, or with the DVD input. But if I switch to another input, be it video game (PS2) or vcr the screen sometimes goes black and the red power lcd light next to the power switch flashes. Holding the power button in for a few seconds will shut down the tv. Then I can turn it back on and it may operate normally again for a undetermined period of time, before the screen goes black again. This never happened when new. The tv is about 1 year old. Any ideas on this problem? Thanks Ernie
