According to the Manual of ML1610, if the Online/Error light is Red, possible problems are:

• Paper jam occurs.
• The front cover is open. Close the front cover.
• Paper tray is empty. Load the paper in the Tray.
• The toner cartridge is out of toner. Remove the old
toner cartridge and install a new one.

You may read the manual of the printer for troubleshooting error messages.

ML-1860. What does red light indicate?

The presence of a red light on the printer can indicate different things depending on its behavior and the specific model. Here are some common reasons for a red light on the Samsung ML-1860:
  1. Error or Issue: If the red light is solid or blinking, it might indicate an error or issue with the printer. This could be related to a paper jam, low toner, a cover not properly closed, or any other hardware problem.
  2. Low Toner: In some cases, a red light might indicate that the printer's toner is running low or needs to be replaced. Check the printer's control panel or software utility for any low toner warnings.
  3. Printer Offline: If the red light is on, and the printer is not responding to print commands, it might be offline or not properly connected to the computer or network.
  4. General Status Indicator: Some printers have a red light that serves as a general status indicator. This light might be on during normal printer operation and is not necessarily indicating an error.
To determine the specific reason for the red light on your Samsung ML-1860 printer, follow these steps:
  1. Check Printer Display: If your printer has a display panel, check if any error messages or warnings are displayed. The display can provide valuable information about the printer's status.
  2. Check the User Manual: Refer to the printer's user manual or documentation for information about the meaning of the red light and troubleshooting steps.
  3. Inspect Printer: Physically inspect the printer for any paper jams, open covers, or other visible issues that might be causing the red light.
  4. Check Toner Level: Check the printer's control panel or software utility to see if the toner level is low or depleted. If necessary, replace the toner cartridge with a new one.
  5. Ensure Connectivity: If the printer is connected to a computer or network, ensure that the connections are secure, and the printer is set to "online" mode.
  6. Restart Printer: Try restarting the printer by turning it off and unplugging it from the power source. Wait for a minute, then plug it back in and turn it on again

Samsung ml1610 gives faint print. (even self print) is this because of drum or blade or toner powder?

Try checking out your toner cartridge on other printer or another toner cart on your printer if you get the print fine on your printer then your toner is troubling or else the mainboard of your printer is problem which is not allowing proper flow of toner on paper.

Samsung 2010 printer

Mine did the same thing, turned out to be an empty toner cartridge. The one that comes with the printer when you buy it only prints about 50 sheets before it dies.

Online/error light

Pull out the toner cartridge. Carefully put your fingers into the opening just beyond the chrome roller. A little to the left of center you will fell/see a small black plastic finger which sticks up. It should be loose - push it forward and it springs forward, release it and it returns to the original position. If your paper jam catches this finger it can become jammed and will feel rigid. Put light pressure on it either pushing to the back or pulling forward until it becomes free again. Replace the toner cartridge, close the cover and your red light should go out.

It worked for me - hope it helps someone else.
