After a four day power outage, my APC BE325R buzzes continuously when started, even though nothing is plugged into it. Has the battery suddenly died, or does it require recharging? Its a very loud buzz - more of an alarm. It was purchased about four years ago - seemed fine up to this point. The computer started fine, temporarily just on a surge protector.

You are going to have to open it up and replace the battery. the model number is located on the battery. Batteries Plus should have your type of battery.

It is probably a bad battery. They usually don't last much longer than 2-3 years. You could try replacing the battery, but I would suggest just replacing the whole UPS with a new model.

Where can I find a service manual or schematic for this device?

User Manuals are no longer available. Internet searches turn up only manuals for the United Kingdom version (BE325-UK). Sadly, such links are usually marked as "BE325" or BE325R" because most people are ... well, see assumption below.

No service information (schematics, etc.) was ever available; and never will be. To be frank, manufacturers of this type of equipment start out with the assumption that all users are em oh are oh ens -- an idea the Internet does not dispel, sadly -- and should never, ever be allowed to open the case. I suspect they will gladly permanently seal the battery into the case if they ever find a battery technology that can last as long as the warranty period. LOL

Unit will not power on?

try to replace your UPS battery, if not your inverter is faulty. Try also to check your UPS battery fuse first if its blown, if your batt fuse is blown. there something wrong with the inverter circuit.

We have a new 60 inch LED Sharp TV. Will an APC #BN600R battery backup, 600 VA 360 watts, handle a power outage or surge for this TV and a Dish network DVR??

Hello,
Yes this UPS will protect the TV and the DVR.
The TV is pretty energy efficient, and uses just under 100watts powered on. The DVR uses under 30 watts, so under heavy load you won't go over 150 watts if just these two devices are plugged into the battery backup side of the UPS. I'm not sure how long this UPS battery last's in a power outage, but since you are not using it to the full 360 watts, you should get double time out of it, though of course, its best to power off your devices as soon as you can. Regards, Chris

Had a power outage and even though i have a APC battery back up the monitor stays in analog power saving mode....help

Read your APC battery back up manual, it will guide you how to use your APC properly! Also use a Heavy duty AVR that will protect your computer from electrical fluctuation. Have a nice day!

House power fluctuates, UPS and computer die.

Sounds like the internal battery of the UPS needs replacement. Contact APC and ask for a qoute for a replacement battery/service. It'll probably work out a cheaper to buy new.

Make sure you dispose of the old unit properly if you do replace
