My phones right earphone is not working.

Hi,
The problem is obviously as a result of the fact there is a loop in the wire as a result of a breakage in the wire hence the right earphone is not working.
The solution is to replace the wire that connects to the right earphone,or better still get another earphone.

Thanks and take care

When I plug the earphone jack into my MP4 player, I only get sound from one earpiece. I have tried several earphone sets to determine that it is not a problem with the earphones

Hi, this is a very common problem, after you have pulled the ear phones in and out a few times the solder on the earphone socket becomes brittle and breaks making you lose the connection with the circuit board, now as you have ruled out it being an earphone fault then the only possible problem could be the solder.

now sometimes if you wiggle the earphone at the part that goes into the mp3 you can sometimes get the sound working again, but this dont always work so dont rely on this,

now the problem you have is that the cost of getting this part fixed would cost a lot more than buying a new mp4 player.

the cheapest place to try and get this fixed is a tv repair shop, tell them exactly what the problem is so they dont have to test it and see how much they will charge you to resolder the earphone socket back in place properly.

that would be the cheapest option and could possibly get it working again if they will do the work for you

im sorry their is no easy fix but without getting the earphone socket re-soldered it will just never work

let me know if you need further assistance ok

Hi i have a 1st gen 16gb ipod touch. When i insert the earphones into the socket i either get no sound, very poor quality sound, or ok quality sound which disapears when i move. i think this is because of...

Some devices such as yours have a 4 conductor jack, (used for earphones and microphone) and most earphones have a 3 conductor plug. They are not compatible. This would be my first guess. Second is earphones and earbuds get tossed around, put into pockets, etc. The cords can get damaged, and not be visible from the outside as the wires inside are very delicate. I would try a set that works in a different device.

I plug in the earphones and i cant get half of the music or sound

Your problem sounds like the male end of the earphones is not making a complete with the mp4 player. Make sure the connection is tight

Earphone plugin

to all three it may be that your earphones aren't working! try it on another audio product you know... if it doesn't work get new earphones!

if not it may be the audio format... try changing it to a format the X20 can read! (mp3 and wma should work)

if its neither you're out of luck. the socket is probably the problem. if its in warranty you might get lucky and they send it to be repaired. if not really bad luck there are few specialised stores with the knowledge to repair an iriver...

Mp4 ear phones

hi the problem will be with the earphones after a bit of use the wires inside the plastic casing covering the wires where they plug into the mp4 these wires fray and eventually short out it is best to replace the earphones as soon as possible as shorting out will eventually cause the mp4 to overheat and short out.
If you have replaced the earphones and are still getting the same problem then it will be the solder points on the jack plug that you plug the earphones into the solder eventually will work lose causing bad connection but first repalce earphones then if you still have the problem but you probanly wont as the solder failing isnt a known problem with this product then you will need to take the cases off and get to the board where the earphone socket is soldered onto the board then you need to resolder the solder joint that connect it to the board.
But first repalce earphone with new ones as using someone elses or old ones might have same problem let me know if you need further assistance
