Philips RC4318 Remote Issue

Hello!

All the buttons light up on the remote and do not work/transmit, when we push any buttons (other then "select" and "volume") on our Philips RC4318 TV remote?

Any ideas it?

Much appreciative,
Trish R.

Why wont my channel buttonand on off buttons dont work

Two possible areas: batteries have become too weak to transmit if signal or Vizio remote needs to be synchronize with tv.

I assume it was working. Try pressing button marked 'tv' close to bottom of keypad and then try on/off. A few remotes have a reset hole takes a paper clip, I do not believe your model is one.

You should be able to test your remote with a cell phone or digital camera. Using camera on your phone, aim remote at camera as if cell phone was tv. Press on off key ( vol, channel up/down ) and if you see red light when remote buttons are pushed...remote is transmitting. If nothing...make sure you remote is not enough
radio frequency or RF.

My philips srp5107wm/17 only changes the volume on my tv no matter what device i have it set on

The Philips remote is set to "push trough" the volume/mute to the TV for devices that typically don't have a volume function. Older versions of Philips remote used to allow you to select the device to push volume to, but for some reason this is no longer available (or at least I haven't found out how to). So here is the solution I used.

Teach (learning function) the remote to use whatever device you like for volume/mute.

1, Press the button for the device you would like to change
2. Hold down "learn" and the button you want to teach ex. "volume up" until the red light comes on
3. Place the original remote of the device you would like to change the volume on 5-10 cm away from your Philips remote and press "volume up" for this example
4. Repeat these steps for the "volume down" and "mute" buttons
5. Repeat these steps for other devices you would like to "push through" volume/mute to a device other than TV

Hope this helps others. I did find that some devices like SAT may not allow you to change the volume/mute, but otherwise this workaround does the trick.

Samsuing remote not working. when any button pressed, screen shows; "DMA is not connected"??????

HI:
You can check the remote with a celluar phone, put your phone in camera mode and point the remote at the phones camers, push a button on the remote and you should see a light from the remote, you can't see infred light but the camera of your phone can. If you see a light then the remote is working and transmitting, your may have a bad infared receiver on the unit you are trying to control.

Tv not taking remote signal

First check if the remote works. This can be done by using a digital camera or cell phone camera. Point the remote at the camera lens and start pressing buttons on the remote. If you see a blinking light on the LCD preview screen of the camera, then you know the remote is transmitting.

If the remote is not transmitting, replace the batteries. If this still does not work, you should get a new remote.

If the remote is properly transmitting, then the issue is going to be with the TV. It depends on the type of TV you have but usually is either the IR sensor board or the main board which are in charge of receiving and decoding the signal from the remote.

Trying to get my directv remote to control this TV but none of the Sylvania codes recommended work any ideas

slide the mode switch to tv, hold down mute and select until the light blinks enter "9-9-1-------1" when the lights finish blinking start pushing push the channel up button. this is a code search. It will transmit every code it knows one at a time. when the tv turns off you've found a code that works. turn it back on, try the volume and see if it works correctly. when finished press select.
most tv/dvd and/or vcr combos won't work with tv codes.
Directv has posted many new codes on their website for combo tv's Go to [ www.directv.com/remote ]to look up the latest codes read the programming section for the remote as there are many customizable features on the remote that most people aren't aware of. good luck

Trying to program my guesTVision CL034 remote to control a Mitsubishi tv.

Turn on tv. On the remote, hold down 'Code Search' button until red light comes on remote. Press 'Chan +' button (on remote) repeatedly until the channel changes. Be patient, this could take lots of pushes. Once the channel changes on the tv, push the 'mute' button on the remote. You're set!
