Printer Cartridge Carriage Stalls

the settings of the gears is misalligned.a technician at your place is advisable as this is a very important part of the printer if any of the arm breaks the printer may face major problems.still stick that arm with a cellow tape on it firmly and then give a print out.if the page prints properly that means it got adjusted automatically.

Print head

The most likely cause is that when you cleared the paper jam, you did something to physically misalign the print carriage. The closest thing HP has on its web site that addresses this issue is the following:

Carriage Stall Solution

See if some of the steps on this page helps. Good luck.

Remove and checl color cartridge

The problem most likely is with the electrical contact between the color cartridge and print carriage. Even if you've replaced the cartridge, if the contacts on the carriage are still dirty, it won't make a good connection with the new cartridge and the error message will still appear.

Fortunately, the HP web site has a solution posted at the following link:

Cleaning Cartridge and Print Carriage Contacts

Good luck.

Carriage Jam

You are lucky you can print ANYTHING! My unit has NEVER worked (3 years) due to a hardware defect of HP. I downloaded patches, cleaned/replaced cartridges, etc.
Spoke to HP last nite-Was told printer was junk-they don't carry it or any parts to fix it anymore!! I was told to replace it!
