First off, cleaning will not fix the problem. Replacement is the only solution. Go to TigerDirect or Amazon for a new DVD read/write unit. $30 to $40 and your back in business.

SOURCE: My Sony cd player spins but won't play. Cleaned

Those CD cleaners rarely work. They are nothing but small brushes on a plastic CD. Unless the problem is loose dust, they won't work. Try carefully opening up the unit and cleaning the lens using a cotton swab and alcohol. If that does not resolve the problem, post the model number and I'll provide the replacement optics part number and cost. Some units have replacement optics that cost less than $15. Dan

How remove vented grill to clean behind it

when you open the doors, there will be one screw facing upwards in the frame above the freezer side, and 2 more in the frame above the fridge side. Then get on a ladder and tip the top of the grill outward till you see a spring on the left, and a spring on the right. pull those off, and lift the grill up and then remove it. if there are screw holes in the frame but no screws, no big deal. Then it's just the springs. the screws are not critical if they are missing. good luck!

Freezer part is cooling.refrigerator is not

Good Morning ehsanulhaq, thank you for your inquiry!

Being that you have a top mount, the vent in the freezer is what circulates air down to the Fresh Food section, making it cool. Here are a few simple troubleshooting tips that may help you resolve this issue:

First check clearances around your refrigerator. There must be adequate space around a refrigerator with a static condenser so that air can circulate properly. Proper clearances include 1" at the back and 3" on top of the refrigerator.

Examine your doors. If the doors have been opened too often or for too long, this may have allowed warm air to enter the refrigerator. Make sure to shut the door completely and be sure not to keep the door open for too long. Even leaving a door slightly open can allow too much warm air intake. Make sure refrigerator is level and keep food and containers from blocking the door closing.

Check the door seal. You do this by placing a dollar bill between the body of the refrigerator or freezer and close the door. The dollar bill should stay in place and pull out with a small amount of resistance. If the dollar bill falls out when placed between the gasket and cabinet, double check to see if the door is being blocked by anything that may be stopping it from closing. If nothing is stopping the door from closing then replace the gasket.

Check to see if the condenser is dirty. A dirty condenser cannot release heat efficiently into the surrounding air. Cleaning the condenser may be necessary, more if you have animals in the house. If you have condenser coils, they should be wiped occasionally with a damp cloth to remove accumulated dust. The condenser coils should be wiped occasionally with a damp cloth to remove accumulated dust.

Check for any obstructions to the vent to ensure proper air flow. If the vent is blocked, the air in the refrigerator will not get cool.
I recommend to double check the freezer control. If the freezer control is set too warm, set freezer control to a colder setting and allow 24 hours for temperature to stabilize.

If these assessment measures prove to be ineffective, I would strongly suggest contacting an authorized service technician who would be better able to assist you in the diagnosis and repair of your unit. You can often locate an experienced technician in your area by going to the manufacturer website.

My acer aspire 5315 shuts off suddenly and won't restart till it wants to. I replaced the battery, no difference....what's wrong?

This could be a sign that your laptop is overheating. If you touch the laptop while it is running & you find it too hot, make sure that the fan is running properly & that the air ways are not blocked.
You can blow compressed air into the cooling vents of the fan. If you notice clouds of dust coming out, then it might be a good idea to disassemble the laptop, clean the fan & air ways, & reassemble it back. If the fan has failed & is no longer running, it might need to be replaced

I have a Whirlpool ED5FHGXNQ00 side by side.for a while it started to show signs of warming up in the fridge side.i noticed the dust built up underneath on the coils and cleaned it.i left it of*** night to defrost.have not plugged it back in yet.but in the freezer behind the panel there was ice build up to the right of the evaporator fan on the plastic scroll.i cleaned that upturned it on and noticed that there was very little air coming through the top air scoop vent in the fridge side.when I open the freezer door it allows more air though(probably to compensate).anyway I read alot on this issue and some say it's the defrost timer boardsome thermostat.the compressor stays pretty hotbut the freezer works fine.please help.

Too light of print

Blowing out dust is not a good idea. access to the laser optics is open on this machine, and you will only make the problem worse, by blowing dust and toner inside.
Dirty laser optics are the cause of our problem. The only way to solve is remove top cover of machine remove several wire connectors, remove cover of laser unit and clean all mirrors, motor, and reflectors.

Sony Vaio PCV-W500GN1 Shutting down

When was the last time you cleaned your computer? Overheating from dust accumulation can cause this kind of problem.

Check to make sure no dust has accumulated in the vents. You may need to carefully open up your computer, and use a can of air to clean out dust on the components. Be aware static electricity can destroy pats of your computer. Make sure you ground yourself by touching a piece of metal before opening the computer case. You don't need to touch anything in there, however. Just carefully use the canned air to clean things out.

Good luck.

No water colledction

Check to see that the air is flowing freely through the dehumidifier. They will accumulate dust particles and become plugged. Also make sure that it is not freezing up (you would see ice forming inside through the vent openings). I have had to remove the case to clean lint from some units to get them to operate more efficently. Always unplug the unit to clean and service it.
