CHECK BELT, WITH MOWER OFF ! . HAVE SOMEONE MOVE HANDLE UP-DOWN AS YOU WATCH THE BELT, IT SHOULD FEEL TIGHT WHEN DECK IS LOWERED .. JAY

Could be the safety switch, located at the cable clutch assembly, under the control panel. This switch has a plunger that is operated by the lever when the lever is up to engage the mower blades. There is no adjustment here. If you have a multimeter, check the ohms and the conunity of the switch by operating the safety switch plunger, you should get a reading,if not,the switch is bad. Also,in this process of troubleshooting, check the linkage cable at the mower. Sometimes, where the cable attaches to the mower deck, comes out of the slot, that holds the cable the mower blades won't engage. It is a really a bad set up, there is a rubber insert with a plastic collar and a small pin that holds the cable in place, I have seen this pin falls off and the cable comes loose from the slot, allowing the cable to be to loose to operate the mower brake assembly.I hope this information is useful to you and others. Sincerely,Brad Locke

Changing blade on Ryobi chop saw

Unplug the saw. If the blade is moving, wait for it to stop. If the blade arm is locked into its down position, push down slightly on the blade arm to release the tension on the blade arm lock pin. Pull out the lock pin to release the blade arm and allow it to move upward.
2 Rotate the lower blade guard upward and expose the Phillips-head screw that holds the blade bolt cover in place. Loosen the screw and rotate the blade bolt cover up and out of the way to expose the hex-head blade bolt.
3 Push the spindle lock button in and rotate the blade bolt until the spindle lock engages fully, stopping the ability of the blade bolt to rotate.
4 Loosen the blade bolt using a 10-millimeter/12-millimeter combination wrench. The blade bolt is lefthand threaded, which is the reverse of conventional threading. Turn the bolt clockwise to loosen and remove it. Note the placement of the outer washer and remove it as well.
5 Place a drop of machine oil on the inner blade bolt washer. Do not remove the inner washer. If it is missing, replace it before replacing the blade.
6 Slide the replacement saw blade up past the lower blade guard and onto the blade spindle. The blade teeth should point downward at the front of the saw. Saw blades often have rotation arrows that can help you double-check that the saw is installed to rotate the correct direction.
7 Press the spindle lock button in to lock the spindle and reinstall the blade bolt. The blade bolt will tighten in a counterclockwise direction. Replace the blade bolt cover and install the blade bolt cover screw.
8 Position a combination square to check that the blade is square to the saw fence and saw table. If the blade is not square, refer to the procedures in the manual for squaring the blade to the fence and table.
Things You Will Need
  • 10-millimeter/12-millimeter combination wrench
  • 5-millimeter hex key
  • Combination square
  • Phillips screwdriver
  • Machine oil
Tip
  • Overtightening bolts and screws can result in cross-threading. Cross-threading damage compromises the integrity of bolts and screws and can be a difficult error to correct.
Warning
  • Do not attempt to install a blade that is too thick in the saw. If the blade washer cannot engage the flats on the spindle, the blade is too thick for the saw.

Blade engagement lever won't disengage

If this is a manual engagment system all the lever does is to pull a jockey wheel into the back of the belt to tention it thus starting the blades to turn, so either the cable is jammed that pulls the jockey wheel in, or the jockey wheel arm is seized and needs freeing off to allow the jockey to to move to the relaxed position.

The blades don't engage when i push the pto switch on dash

Sounds like you have a loose or broken wire. It may have an inline fuse that blew. I would start at the switch and work my way down checking the wires for breaks or disconnections. If nothing, it may be your brake switch. If your brake switch is defective or not hooked up, your mower wont register you have pressed the brake lever and wont allow you to activate the mower deck as a safety measure.

I have a 06 pontiac G6 and bought the bosch marathon blades, it shows that they should fit on the wiper arm but I can't get it to fit. Any suggestions would help, thanks.

I just put Bosch blades on my 2007. Those blades fit multiple vehicles so they include a squre plastic cap covering the point where your wiper arm attaches to the blade. I don't know which vehicle needs that cap, but the G6 does not. So throw it away. Then it will work fine.

How do I change the windshield wiper blades? I'm unable to locate a pin or release on the wiper arm. I believe it is a J type hook but I don't see how to remove the old ones to insert the...

usually there is a clip on the bottom side to depress to release it from the "hook", depress the clip then push the blade toward the base of the arm.

Two springs broke underneath the riding lawn mower 3800 and we don't know where to replace them at, they engage the gears.

First make sure you can still engage the blades. Many mowers use a cable attached to a spring to engage the blades. If that is one of the springs, you need a new cable. For the other I will need more information, like what kind of mower is it?How many blades?Another thing to look for is worn or torn holes that the springs attach to.

My riding mower blade engages before i engage it

It sounds like the blade brakes are worn out. If you look under neath the frame, where your feet rest, you sound see an arm with a brake pad on it.
It may be time to replace them.
Go to www.precisonope.com, put your information in under OEM parts. It will give you a diagram and parts list. You can find your part number for the blade brakes.
Good Day.
