I had the same problem with my Samsung LN26A450 LCD TV. I found the following YouTube video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mm51C_RDIZE titled "Samsung TV Repair - Part 1 of 2) (also watch Part 2 of 2) which shows how to easily fix the problem. The problem is bad capacitors on the power supply board. My TV had seven (7) bad capacitors - all 7 had dark stains on the ends from leaking electrolytic fluid and one (10V 2200MFD) was blown with bulging ends. I ordered 7 new high-temp (105 degrees C) aluminum radial capacitors from DigiKey.com matching the Temperature, Capacitances and Voltage Ratings for each damaged capacitor that I removed. I followed the instructions in the video except I used desoldering braid ($3.99 at RadioShack) to remove the solder attaching the bad capacitor leads to the power supply board. Once you wick up the old solder from all sides of each lead wire using the desoldering braid, the bad capacitors are easily removed. Total cost of repair including soldering equipment was less than $50. Thanks to “The Professor” for posting the video and saving me $400.

The problems u discribing could be either boards the Tuner board or the T-con board. The Tuner board is the board, take in the incomming signal cable. The T-con board is the board sit right in the middle botton of the LCD screen. To regulate and control the ditgital signal go into the LCD screen. If there no trauma to the LCD screen panel.Try change the T-con board first, because it small miner board and it cheaper $50-$75.The Tuner board it a major board and it big and it control all the incomming signal to the tv.This board, will cost u $150-175.Tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy either T-con or Tuner boards.Change either of those boards or both.Same problems after this the LCD screen is short in useage and it dead. Not worth repairing,if LCD screen panel is dead, because it limited production and 90% important to the tv.It will, cost the same to replaced as to buy a new tv.If tv require a new LCD screen panel.

The blinking power light was signalling that the power source of the tv was in protected mode - a fault has been detected and the source had been forcefully shut down to protect itself and the rest of the tv. Unfortunately you haven't disconnected the tv from the mains and now even the protection system has failed, so the power source is completely fried by now.
This is a big failure, the power board will have to be replace and the other boards tested for damages and this is something that you can't do - you don't have the required testers. Time to take it to a shop. The closest Samsung authorised repair shop is Virginia Elect & Home Automation in Ashland , 11030 Richardson Rd, Suite B5. phone 804-415-6372. But you should visit your local repair shops first, they could fix your tv for a smaller price and with less hassle.

The problem is heat!!! If the tv has fans they should be checked for normal operation, although on the early samsung models there were none, and the problem is that the panel drive buffers are getting to hot due to inadequate cooling. This is most apperent when tv is mounted to close to the wall, also external fan blowing on the rear left side will dissapate the heat. It is a problem on early Samsung and Electrograph 42 " plasma models. Hope this helps.
