I have an old Dell DE051 tower and I have it hooked up to my TV via VGA cable. When I turn on the tower, the dell loading screen appears and then moves onto the Windows XP loading screen. The problem...

Could be the pixal setting on the tower is too high for the TV? Can you change the video card settings to the TV Pixal rating? You could have a bad video card. Good luck.

Administrator password

You may have to contact Dell directly if its a hard drive or BIOS password.
I do know using a Windows 7 install disc will repair this error (if you can get past the password). Just insert and choose repair. gl

Mouse keep freezing on my Dell Inspiron 560

Sounds like you might have a virus or infection. Try booting up in Safe Mode and see if the mouse freezes.
Go to www.google.com and in the search box type:"Download cnet Malwarebytes" (without the quotes). Download andinstall malwarebytes from the sites download.cnet/malwarebytes. When thesite opens up click on the Green Download button on the left. Do notclick the Red Download button, that's junk. When it finishes installing the GuiInterface will open up with an offer to Accept a Trial Version orDecline. CLICK DECLINE you want the totally free version. Run aQUICK SCAN. As it scans, if it finds infections the number will be inred. When it finishes scanning, click SHOW RESULTS. A notepad textdocument will open up showing you the results. You can close the textdocument and go back to the Gui Interface where you will click REMOVE SELECTEDRESULTS. The objects will already be selected for you. When itfinishes removing the objects click ok and it will sometimes reboot yourmachine

Try reinstalling the mouse drivers.

Get onlineand got to www.google.com In the google search box type: "DellSupport" (without the quotes and put your manufacturer name before Support). Look for downloads and drivers. Enter your model number and operatingsystem when requested. Download and install the Mouse drivers.

There should ba a tiny hole on the front of the tray cover on the drive.
Switch off, get a paper clip or something about the same thickness and insert it carefully in to the hole, push it in until the tray opens.

My dell inspiron 1721 is stuck on start up. The screen with ctrl + F to enter build utility. Ive tried to reinstall vista but on the install. I get stuck on the load drivers screen. I have the drivers on...

Hi, first of all have you tried to run the diagnostics just to ensure the hardware functionality of your computer? if not, here's how: As the computer boots, press when the Dell Splash Screen appears. When the Boot menu appears, highlight the Boot to Utility Partitionoption, or the Diagnostics option and then press to start the 32-bit Dell Diagnostics. Press the key to highlight Test System Press to continue to 32-bit Diagnostics. Note: Express Test is the only test that will not require user involvement.
If there's no error found, that means, that your hardware most esp the hard drive (HDD) that came with your system is perfectly working fine and this isolated your issue that it's the operating system problem. It's good to know that you attempted to rebuild the OS just make sure it's the recovery cd that came with the computer. try to boot from the OS cd once again and reload / reinstall Vista. Here's the link for your reference (see step 4): http://support.dell.com/support/topics/global.aspx/support/kcs/document?&docid=DSN_339949&isLegacy=true#Issue4

Dell optiplex gx280 makes loud fan sound at startup and enters windows screen, but will not finish booting and freezes up.

You may have a problem with your power supply(the loud fan noise) and eventually it may get too hot and will cause problems like not fully booting.
