Im trying to switch to an external monitor on my hp G60-235DX laptop. The laptop screen has been damaged and does not work. Is there an easy solution?

Try it with external monitor -
Check the external screen switch (Fn+ some of functional keys)
If it works fine with external monitor and you can not activate internal display have your screen serviced

i think the display ic is problem try reheat near the video output

Connect a external monitor to eliminate the Graphics adapter, You didn't supply the Make, Model of computer or the OS you are using? If the blob isn't on the external monitor I would suspect the Laptop monitor, and damage? You could also try to roll back the graphics adapter driver to verify the driver.
