My T5 will not synch my calendar in Outlook

Welcome to Fixya

Double check the Palm or palmOne program in Windows. Click Start then All Programs then Palm or palmOne. You should see an icon in there called Sync with Outlook or something similar. Click that icon and the Outlook conduits will replace those for Palm Desktop. Some conduits, like Media/Photos will continue to sync with Palm Desktop, but Calendar, Contacts, Tasks, and Memos will sync to Outlook.

Thank you for using Fixya!

Transfer calendar info from Tungsten/E Palm to iphone 3GS

The best way is to transfer the Calendar and Contacts to Outlook. The iPhone can then be synced with Outlook.

Unfortunately, tasks and memos do not transfer. You will need to find other 3rd party apps that are supported on the iPhone and transfer your data to them.

Two examples are:

1. Evernote - This is good for memo. You can export your memos and then import them into Evernote. unfortunately, when I did this, it was a bit tricky. I even had to write a little PERL script to create the format that it wanted.

2. RemembertheMilk - this is a todo application

Data Lost - Palm T 3

  1. BACK UP YOUR PALM DATA! It is normally in C:\Program Files\PalmOne\XXXXXX, where XXXXXX is the first six of your Palm's User ID. If it is not there, the location can be found in Palm Desktop (Tools-> Options).
  2. Is the correct Data still present in Palm Desktop? If Yes, you're in great shape, it should sync back to the Palm after a hard-reset.
  3. If not, close Palm Desktop and look in the data directory. Some subdirectories (address, datebook, etc.) should have BAK files. If the BAK files are bigger than the DAT files, delete the DAT files and rename the BAK files to DAT. Restart Palm Desktop. Is the data there now?

If not, I am afraid you've had a learning experience. My Palm is synced to two different machines. One is running RAID-1 (mirrored drives), and both are backed up to tape weekly. Me? Paranoid? Naah...

Most people have to find out about backups the hard way.

Lost Data

Sounds like you've wiped all your data. It's a good discipline to keep a regular backup of all your Palm files on the PC so that if this happens you can restore the last backup and re-synchronise. I have had several Palm devices, and all of them have corrupted files at some point.

Errors sync with Outlook 2003 and Tungsten T3

I did search through the forums before posting and the only "solution" I found was to buy Chapura PocketMirror for $30 which I refuse to do. I should be able to sync this palm with Office without having to spend even more money.

MS Outlook syncs calendar, notes but not contacts

Click on the hotsync icon in your system tray and then click "custom". That will bring up the list of things you are configured to sync with (conduits). For each of the ones you have problems with, click that conduit and then make sure it's set to sync the way you want...desktop overrides, handheld overrides, syncronize, etc. Potentially you have some of them selected as "do nothing". What shows up when I click custom from hotsync are the following Outlook Conduits: Calendar, Contacts, Tasks and Memos. If you don't have those showing up, you need to update your Outlook conduits on your PC. If you have them, click to select the problem conduit, then click "change" and select what you want to have happen.

Sync fails with "too many open databases"

This is what I did to fix that error:

Hard-reset your Palm to erase all data (that usually involves pushing the small "reset" button on the back, then pressing the "power on" button until the device boots, and then pressing "up" to confirm the hard-reset)

After that, sync your palm. The sync software will ask if you want to use your existing profile or create a new one. Create a new one. Then the program will offer to sync your Outlook profile with your Palm. Click on "ok", and a message asking you to accept to sync your Outlook data with more than one profile will pop-up. Click on OK, again... and that's it!
