If it's a problem with the drivers, when you go to the manufacturer's website to download them, merely type in the exact product you have and the website should give you the specific driver/s for your product. If you go to the icon for XP's volume and recording tools, make sure that you've engaged the mic to function and that it functions at a sufficient level. You can find those tools under Control Panel, and then select SOUND, and then select RECORDING to adjust the mic functions.
If I read correctly, you have outputs on the Behringer (CD/Tape Out) connected to inputs on the Behringer (USB Device In). Is that correct? If so, try going from CD/Tape Out directly to the computer. If not, please explain what the "USB Device In" is. Thanks, Rich
You will have to have an amplifeir between them since the PV12M is an unpowered speaker. The Xenyx 2442FX is likewise an unpowered mixer meaning it cannot directely drive a speaker. You will wire with a balanced line (TRS cable) between the 2442 and the amp and then from the amp to the speaker using a speaker type cable.
It appears there are internal jumpers that do this on the MX2642A but the schematic does NOT show these for the Xenyx2442FX. These if they existed may be push on type OR they may be ones you have to change using soldering equipment. Carefully open the unit and look on the back of the circuit board. The jumpers would have low numbers... Should be JP1 through JP24.... I have a hunch that they are not provided for your model. Here is your schematic:
We don't have any graphic means of diagramming. You also don't say if this is for recording or playing or both. Assuming it is both, your best way would be to get two 1/8 stereo cables that split into two RCA plugs. Go from the headphone out of the DR1 to the CD inout jacks on the mixer. Then with the second cable go from teh CD out jacks of the mixer to the line in of the DR1.
First thing to check is look in the Windows Control Panel at the the "Sounds and Devices" and verify that the 2442USB IS the device for both input and output instead of the usual PC audio devices. You should see a pulldown list including both for those... If not, your SW driver is NOT loaded properly.
The utput fader has probably been broken. If the knob takes a hit, it breaks the resistance element. The part is inexpensive but it takes a lot of work to access and replace the part.
