How do I switch from letters to numbers on the LG remote control

    The only numbers I see on the remote are: AKB72914003. Is this what you wanted?

    I don't think I've explained my problem very well. For example, the number "2" also controls the letters "ABC"; the number "3" also controls the letters "DEF" and so on. I am trying to enter a network code consisting of both numbers AND letters. The letters I can enter by hitting the corresponding key sufficient times. EG, to enter "B" I hit the number "2" key two times, etc. Now, I need to enter numbers. For example, how would I enter "coolken2341"? I can get the "coolken" part, now I need to switch to numbers for the rest.

    Nope. Mine doesn't work that way. However, I was directed to the solution which is a toggle button on the remote. Thanks anyway. I do appreciate it.

    Just asking,,do you have the manual of your remote AKB72914003.?

    You might need to reset the remote. Remove batteries from remote control. Press and hold any button for one minute. This will drain power out of the remote and reset it. Universal remotes will have to be reprogrammed.

  • Hi I can help.

  • With this remote when you press a button it scrolls through the letters after the number. In other words if you press the #2 you get 2 , A, B, C and the same for the other buttons respectively. There is no special button to make the remote function in nnumbers only or letters only.

    Yes, There is a button called the "ratio" button right between the volume and channel adjustments that does toggle. Sorry about the confusion.

Should be just the same as logging in on your laptop or phone. Use your remote control and go to facebook, then navigate to log in, and press OK on your remote, this should take you to the option for your password. You will notice that on your remote control there are numbers as well as letters, for instance, if a letter you need to use is, lets say E,you will see that letter on the number 3 on your remote, but after D, so, hit 3 twice to get the letter E, see?

HOW TO SWITCH BETWEEN NUMBERS AND LETTERS
I'm guessing this is on a laptop or mini keyboard? You have managed to turn them number lock on. To be able to use the letters again on the keyboard the number lock feature needs to be turned off. This varies depending on the model of keyboard/laptop. One thing that may help is using the fn (lower left on keyboard) key on laptops (funtion key) and while pressing this tap the Num Lock key, usually at the top right of the keyboard.

Are the letters a different color? You may have to press the corresponding color button on the remote. I think LG remotes usually have a bank of multiple colored buttons. It's worth a shot anyway. Good luck.

The dial with the letters is for setting the "house code". The dial with the numbers assigns a number for each controled device. If your neighbor's house code is the same as yours it is possible that their controller is tuning on your light. Change your house code to another number. Remember that all controllers and controlled devices must be on the same house code to work, so you have to change the house code on the remote also. If you don't want the remote to work just set it to a house code letter that is not being used by anything else. If you don't want the remote to work just for that device, just change the device number.

LG 42lb1dr remote control quit working. Changed
The Main Boards in these sets have caused remote control issues and could also cause the Reserved indicator to light. You will need the Model number, and the extension letters and numbers to the right of the Model Number to order the board. I would also have the Serial Number just in case it is also required.
