Panasonic lumix dmc-tz1 SD card - card reader

I have a panasonic lumix dmc-tz1 and I cannot copy the pictures from my SD card to my computer. I do not have any USB connectors I have a SD card reader but when I try opening the card via my computer I get the message that the card needs formatting. However I can copy the pictures using my sisters card reader on her computer.

My guess is either the cardreader or its driver is outdated. Search for the latest driver for this reader, as well as others with a similar problem as your, on the internet. The reader itself may also be hardware defective.

You can get a very good, but dated, laptop with USBs on ebay at a good price. The other alternative, if you have a dated laptop, then you can get a PCMCIA Card-to-USB converter card for your computer at a low price on either ebay or Amazon. Amazon sells used product too.

Lumix Tz1 Manual - The panasonic Lumix software has stop working according to my computer. What can I do to fix this? I cannot download my pics.

You may download a copy of the manual at http://service.us.panasonic.com/OPERMANPDF/DMCTZ1-MULTI.PDF

You don't need to use the Panasonic software. The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa ( http://picasa.google.com ).

What is the highest capacity memory card that I can use in my Panasonic DMC-TZ1?

Assuming you're using SD cards, they top out at 2GB. Cards larger than 2GB are SDHC and they will not work in the DMC-TZ1. So, you may use SD cards up to 2GB in size.

Try formatting the new card in the camera. Also, download any pics from the old card using a card reader and then, format it in the camera.

Need replacement installation CD (Mac version) for Lumix DMC-TZ1

The easiest way to download your pics to a Mac is to use a card reader. You can transfer the pics to a folder you create on your desktop and view them from there or import them to iphoto.

Need software cd and usb cable

Hi, if you want to download pictures taken on camera to computer the best way is to buy an USB card reader. You take the card out of the camera, into the reader and you card will be available as a disk on your computer, allowing copying pictures very fast and easy.
