well..sounds like perhaps the control board is having a fit..unplug it first, let it discharge(usually around 4 min) and then have a go at it again. Does this occur on all cycles?

60 is 50 + 10, so it is lX
90 is 100 - 10, so it is XC

You can try Three things:

1. Do you have fully charged batteries-- or a good power supply.

2. Sometimes the cable to the hand controller needs to be replaced

3. Execute a RESET on the hand controller and reload the firmware--

If these do not fix it, the hand controller is defective and must be replaced. You can find a used 497 controller for about $80 on AstroMart.com

and Meade can also sell you a new one.

Since you already disassembled the scope-- you can send the board to Ron Sampson and he should be able to repair it. He fixes main boards and hand controllers (including the screen and keyboard on the hand controller!)

If you post a message on the Yahoo LX90 group looking for Ron Sampson he will answer you. You can then email or phone him for instruction on how to send him the board.

ARE YOU SURE it's the board? It could be a bad keyboard or a bad cable on the hand controller. You should get another hand controller and cable and test it before you send it off. Can you borrow a hand controller and cable from anyone.... or from a local scope retailer?

Check the autostar controller; you may have a stuck key. The telescope should run without the control - unplug it after it starts and see if the slewing halts. (don't plug it back in while powered) The other thing, would be a bad sensor on the motor.

replace the control panel or have it repaired,there is no e20 listed as a trouble code,so it needs to be replaced.

To clear latest stored error code:

Place the control into Diagnostic test Mode.

• Turn the program knob clockwise 9 clicks from the Start Position. The control will signal the last error code.
• Press and hold the Options and Pause Cancel buttons for 3 seconds. The code will be cleared.
• Exit Diagnostic Mode to return the washer to normal operation.

E11 Fill time too long.
E13 Water leak in tub or air leak in air bell.
E14 Reed switch.
E21 Water not pumping out fast enough.
E23 Drain pump relay on control board failed.
