There are a few things you need to keep in mind when reinstalling the power cord on your Cobra LX500 sewer machine. First, make sure that the cord is unplugged from the power source before beginning any work. Next, locate the two screws that hold the power cord cover in place and remove them. With the cover removed, you should see the power cord attachment point. Firmly gripping the cord, insert it into the attachment point and tighten the screw to secure it. Finally, replace the cover and screw it back into place. With that done, your power cord should be properly installed and ready for use.
Is it a laptop? What I do with my laptop is to remove the power cord, remove the battery, press and hold the power on button for at least 30 seconds, plug in the power cord (don't put the battery back in at this stage), and attempt to power on. If it is working close down normally, remove the power cord, refit the battery and power on again. This always works for me.
Most times a break in the wiring is not visible and can occur inside only one wire in the mains power cord several centimeters from the power appliance. The first thing to ascertain is whether there is continuity between the plug pins to the junction. You will need to use a polarity tester. If you don't have a multi-meter you can use a small battery and torch bulb and run them in parallel. Test both the positive and negative wires. If one wire fails to provide continuity then rewiring will solve your problem.
Remove battery
unplug power cord from laptop
press and hold power button for a least one minute while power cord and battery are removed
insert power cord only
turn on laptop
laptop should turn on without battery installed
if it does not turn on you probably have some motherboard issues
.......
then install battery if it still does not turn ...and try to turn on
it still may turn on...I have seen stranger things happen with computers
**************
you may also want to try another power cord if you have an extra...the power cord may not be allowing enough power to travel thru cord
Make sure it's plugged into an electrical outlet that works. Is the power cord removable? If so, then make sure it is inserted completely. Again of it is removable, then you might have accidentally gotten the DVD player's power cord mixed up with another removable power cord from something else. Sometimes, the power cord will have the DVD player's name on it.
After a LOT of screw removal, AFTER disconnecting the power cord, I did EXACTLY as they said and simply removed the plug PJ36A, just as told. Then I vacummed out all the dust!
Before putting the cover back on, I plugged up power, being SURE to only touch the power cord and the TV turned right on! :)
Removed the power cord, put in all the screws, reconnected the power cord and 'good as new'. :)
Replace the power cord to accomodate the outlet you have. You can purchase them at any hardware store for about $20. This is the easier option than trying to replace the outlet. To replace the cord follow these steps:
1. Remove the access cover on the terminal block on the back of the dryer. This is where the existing power cord is installed.
2. Remove the existing power cord from the terminal block.
3. Remove the power cord restraining clamp (if equipped). This secures the power cord at the entry point on the back of the dryer and prevents it from stressing the terminals and prevents chaffing of the outer insulation on the power cord. NOTE: Its a good idea to have this installed for safety reasons.
4. Remove the old power cord and install the new one following this color scheme at the terminal block:
RED (Hot) - 120VAC
BLACK (Hot) - 120VAC
WHITE (Neutral) - 0 VAC - Should be connected to the terminal block and grounded to the equipment cabinet via a grounding strap.
NOTE: If the power cord or wires at the terminal block are not color coded, the outer two wires (LEFT and RIGHT) are the two hot leads. The center conductor is Neutral.

Turn off the pc, disconnect the power cord. Remove the battery. Leave it alone for a few minutes. Plug in the power cord (do not replace battery yet) and turn it on. If it works, turn it off, remove power cord and replace battery. Plug power cord back in and turn on pc again.
Try this:
- Turn machine off; remove power cord; remove battery.
- Without battery or power cord, press the power button and hold it down for at least 10 seconds. This discharges power 'residue' in the machine [and, I suspect gremlins].
- Reassemble power cord and battery.
- Restart.
