I am sorry but I already tried this solution before and it did not solve my problem. How can the internet be working perfectly and the wireless router and TV dongle have such a strong signal yet be unable to resolve the domain? If the computer can connect to the internet using the same domain, I can't understand why the TV can no longer do so. Any other ideas - is there a fault in the set?
Sony Bravia LCD flat screen 40CX520
I telephoned Sony and am still waiting for a response three weeks later. I managed to fix the problem myself by finding out from my ISP what the DNS gateway number was. You have to use your remote control to access the network setup on the TV. Steps for wireless internet were as follows:
1. Press scan to find the your wireless internet.
2. Click on it and enter your WPA2 password and
3. Then click on manual to enter in the IP address, the default gateway and the primary DNS.
4. You have to enter the same number for the default gateway and primary DNS
It should look something like this:
IP: 10.0.0.5
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway 10.0.0.142
Primary DNS 10.0.0.142
It worked instantly on the Sony Bravia and on the Samsung. I hope this helps. I found the information about my DNS gateway on my ISP's website.
