Most washing machines wont let you open the door if there is still water in it. Try putting the drain hose on the ground to drain the water out and try the door again. If its a front loader, there may be a drain hose or outlet next to the filter cup. Usually down on the front of the machine.
LG Front Load Drain pumps are located at the bottom left hand side of the machine, it has an opening. You can open the door, and pull the small black hose out, and manually drain any remaining water. Once the remaining water is out, you can unscrew the black cap, which is the clean out.
nd = No Drain the pump is not working.open the door on the bottom right on the front of the machine. you will find a small black hose with a plastic plug in the end of it. it will pull out about 6in depending on you situation you take a length of garden hose and drain it outside or you can use a pan, obviously the garden hose will have to drain to a lower point than the hose coming out of the washer. You will drain about 3Gal of water, once the water is below the water sensor level you will be able to power it on and the door will unlock. The other twist lock to the left of the small drain hose is the filter for trapping items that may clog the pump.Ultimatley the front off the washer will have to be removed to clean or replace the pump. I have actually run our washer by hooking up a primer bulb and hose for an outboard motor.and pumped the water into a laundry tube between cycles. You can find that hose an bulb in the sporting goods dept at Walmart
Hello,
You will have to get the water out, down by the filter at bottom lhs see if there is a small rubber hose next to filter if there is it should pull out so far then you can remove the small plug on end to drain into a container. If no hose down then try putting the drain hose down to floor level into a bucket or out of an exit door to syphon out water.Or get machine filter by an exit door and release the filter plug and let water drain out.E21 means that there is either some blockage in the pump or the drain pipe may be kinked or blocked.
Had the same problem today. On the front bottom left hand side there is a small door. Open the door and unplug the black rubber hose, this will allow the water to drain (make sure you have a small bucket to drain the water into.) After the water has drained, unscrew the black filter. Wash the filter and insert it back into the washer. Turn the filter until it will not turn any further. Plug the black water hose and close the door. If you had the same problem I did then it should work.
LG recommends that the filter be cleaned twice a month.
does it have a dial that you can manually turn to start the next cycle? You can usually drain the water by pulling the drain hose out from the wall drain behind hte washer....( usually just shoved in the drain not attached) but be aware that when you hold the hose below the water level in your washer it will start to drain. Then perhaps the door will unlatch.
Hi
E20 is a drainage error. If there is water in the drum make sure the discharge pipe at the back of the machine is not kinked or blocked. You should also check the pump filter is not clogged - this is behind the front panel underneath the drum at the front of the machine.
E41 = Control board thinks the door switch is open. This points towards a faulty door switch on the machine.
Hope this helps. Please remember to rate my answer. Many thanks.
it is most likely your machine may have a draining problem. if it cant drain the water out the door wont open.
if you open the small door at the front bottom of the machine you will find the little black drain hose. unplug the hose off the door and drain machine. when the machine is empty try powering on and opening the door.
if still no luck you will see (in the same location) a red pull ring. undo the screw holding the ring in position and gently pull until the door releases.
it would be worth undoing the button trap lid to access the pump and check for any blockages (most common coins **** pins etc)
let me know how you get on.
