Can you get data off of a flash drive that not working? Like send it to have it fixed

There are two possible
1. Damage to partition table
2. Damage to firmware

it seems that the file or the system in your flash drive error, to fix this issue try to format your flash drive. To format the drive you can follow this way
right click on my computer icon in our desktop
click manage
click disk management (in a storage tab)
right click on your detected flash drive (could be in F)
click format
make a system as fat32
list on perform a quick format

Notes: it will erase all your data on your flash drive

Files on a flash drive canbe corrupted if it is not removed from the USB port properly.
Before removing the flash drive click on the Safely Remove Hardware icon andthen click on the flash drive you want to remove and then remove the flashdrive when the computer message says it is Safe to remove.
To restore the flash drive to working order you need to format the flash drive,BUT you will lose the data stored on the flash drive.

Flash drives by default use the FAT32 file system. FAT32 has a limit of 4gb per file. So you could have four 4gb files on your pen drive, but no files bigger than about 4gb. You could use the NTFS format, but it's not suggested for flash drives since it reads/writes much more often than FAT and will make the drive lifetime MUCH shorter.

1. PLUG THE FLASH DRIVE IN USB PORT, RIGHT CLICK ON THE FILE U WANT TO SEND TO FLASH DRIVE AND SEND TO FLASH DRIVE.

2. COPY THE CONTENT U WANT TO SEND TO FLASH DRIVE, PLUG THE FLASH DRIVE IN USB, EXPLORE THE PC BY EXPLORER AND SLECT THE FLASH DRIVE, DUBBLE CLICK IT AND WHEN IT OPENS JUST PASTE THE DATA THERE.

dont panic, try this data recovery program called asoftech data recovery.

I used the program before, it helped me recover my files from pen drive. If it does not work, you may try quick format the pen drive and then use asoftech data recovery program to recover again your files.

Does the flash drive been detected by computer? If not, you may try other usb port, or other computer and see whether the flash drive is detected. If still not, try to go to device manager and then assign a drive letter to the flash drive. After that, download a flash drive data recovery software, recommended asoftech data recovery, you can refer to this tutorial

If still does not work, you may format it (use quick format) and then use asoftech data recovery to recover your files.

Assuming you are using a Cruzer Micro Drive with U3 Smart, things can be a little confusing because the drive actually shows up as two independent devices. When you insert the drive, there should be two devices showing up in your list of drives. One of them is installed as a CD Rom Drive and the other one is a Removable Drive. If you double click on the CD Rom Drive instead of the Removable Drive and you don't have any U3 applications mapped to the CD Rom Drive, then you'll get an insert disk message because Windows thinks that the CD Rom Drive is empty. Just use the Removable Drive if you want to simply install and transfer files.
