SOURCE: I have installed Crosley CR5503A
Hi This type of issues occurs due to unsuccessful installation
of drivers or poor USB connection with PC and device. Make sure that the device
and PC is firmly connected. Also check the availability of device from the
properties in My Computer. If Camera is displaying in the Imaging Devices then
the drivers have been installed successfully. If not then you'll need to
uninstall and re-install the drivers. Hope
this helps...please post back for further assistance. Daniel

You might have installed the wrong driver for your computer's operating system (OS) version. Uninstall the driver then check the OS version (32-bit or 64-bit). Right-click on My Computer (Computer) then selectProperties.
The system information of your computer will open then look for the system type.
Once the system type is determined, reinsert the driver CD then right-click on the CD-ROM drive and select Explore.
The contents of the driver CD are listed. Open Driver folder then select and open the driver folder for the OS version (32-bit or 64-bit) of your computer. Right-click on the setup.exe (setup) file then select Run as administrator.
The driver will install until a notice is shown that the scanner has been install successfully.
You can address the "Acquire Source Failed..Restart DSM" message by right-clicking on the scanner button at the status bar then selecting Maximize.
A window will open. Click File and select and click Select Source.
Highlight (Click) the name of the correct scanner installed then click the Select button.
You should now be able to use the scanner.
