It all depends on how your set up is. If you are connected through USB, you will need to download the twain driver from the Kyocera website. Then you can utilize any scanning program that you wish to collect the document image.
If you are connected through ethernet, it's a little more complicated. The first choice you need to decide is what you want done with the document image after it has been acquired. There are three main choices: Upload to FTP server, Send to a folder on a computer through SMB, or email.

All three of these options are obtained through the Kyocera Command Center software installed on the printer. Point your browser to http://192.168.2.10/ and you can login. If it asks for password, the unit ships with password "admin00", so that should get you in unless someone changed it.
You can adjust the settings through this screen. Head over to the "scan" tab, and you can put in the information for whichever way you want it. If you decide on Email, you will notice at the bottom of the page a link to set up the SMTP options for sending the emails.
Another note with email: you will need to set up a DNS server in the TCP/IP section under "Basic" settings. If you don't have a DNS server on your network, you can utilize universal ones. I recommend using Google's DNS servers (8.8.8.8 & 8.8.4.4)

SOURCE: hp psc 950 from scanner to pc save

I was having the same problem when I pressed the "Scanner" and then "PC Save" buttons. But I found that if you have the printer software installed on your PC, you can double-click on the printer icon that should be on your desktop, and a window will come up where you can scan, copy & view images, etc. Hope that helps.

SOURCE: scan from printer through router to pc?

You will need to use the TWAIN software for the printer. From the computer you will be running the scan options thru the TWAIN software. Then the scan files will be pulled from the printer back to the computer. Running scan options directly from the printer will give you the option to print the scan files or send them to a memory card if your printer has a slot for one. If the scanning software is not installed on your computer then you will need to download it from the manufacturer's website.

My scanner is plugged in but when I try to scan a document it says my scanner is not responding

Hello,

If it is your first time using your printer, then you need to install the driver for it to work.

If you have used your printer without any problem before then, there are two possible reasons why your printer/scanner is having that issue:

1. Connection error
2. Driver problem

First thing's first. Restart your computer and your printer. there are times that computers and printers just need a restart for it to work. Yes, it's strange but it's how things work with machines. They need rebooting to work smoothly.

If rebooting your computer and printer won't fix the problem. Here are the things that you can do.

1. Connection error:
.
a. Turn off your printer and turn it back on. Try scanning, if no go.. proceed to step b.

b. Unplug your printer from your computer and unplug it's power cord and press and hold the printer's power button to 5-8 seconds to completely drain the power. Plug it back in to the wall outlet leaving the connection between your computer and the printer still unplugged. wait until your printer completely turns on. Plug it to your computer and do the scanning process.

If all steps above don't work, then you need to check the driver.

Uinstall the driver of your computer by going to the control panel. After uinstalling it, then reinstall it by using the dvd that came with your printer. Follow the on-screen instructions and try scanning. It should work.

If it doesn't, please reply to this thread.

Can lexmark x1160 printer scan to computer or e-mail

Most multi-function scanner printer cannot scan to e-mail. They can scan and fax if it has a phone line connection.
You can scan and save the scanned doument as an image file and then send an e-mail with the image file as a file attachment.

I don't know how to work the scanner on my HPpsc1210. The printer works but if I want to scan something I place the item on the scanner bed and push the scan button but nothing happens.

Hi!

You need to connect the scanner into your computer. Its either you use the scanning software from HP or use the scanner wizard of Microsoft. For a start, you can use this article from Microsoft on how to use the Scanner Wizard.

How do I scan a document and send it via e-mail

You need to connect the scanner into the computer. Assuming that you already downloaded the necessary drivers for the unit, press the Scan button on the printer itself. If there is a software that came with the installation, you can use that to initiate the scan. If not, you can go to Scanners and Printers under Control Panel. And then click on your device. Start the scanning process and then save the output.

As to how it could be sent, you just need to attach the scanned image using the Attachment functionality of various email providers/client.

I want to scan a picture on my HP officejet K60 and email to my account. I need to know how to set this up

Hi bee03101962,

When scanning to e-mail, the scanned image is placed in a newly created e-mail message as an attachment. Complete the message, adding addresses, subject, and text, and send it. Here's how you would do that.
  1. Start the e-mail program and connect to the Internet service. For some programs, doing this first avoids confusion about assigning the e-mail a date and time for delivery.
  2. Load the original in the scanner.
  3. In the HP Director , click Scan to E-Mail . The all-in-one product scans the document, and the scan appears in a new message window of the e-mail program. NOTE: When scanning to e-mail, the scan is saved as .jpg file, which generally results in a smaller file size. Regarding file size, if the .jpg file exceeds the ISP's maximum size, consider rescanning at a lower resolution. Microsoft Office 2000 programs may or may not be supported. For more information on supported programs, check the HP Web site: www.hp.com/go/all-in-one.
  4. Process the e-mail message normally.
The scanner software scans into several e-mail and fax programs. If the program is supported, its name may appear in the Send To list in the Scan window. Some e-mail programs appear in the list as Mail. Good Luck, Don't forget to leave a rating. Thanks Mark

Send scanned document too the computer

For this issue that you are having. You need to have the printer connected to your network. You need to have the manual for the printer setup. Once it is connected to your network. You will be assigning an IP address for the printer. You need to add it on your printer list using its ip address. Once connected, try to go to the printer itself. Look at the menu and look for the scan folder. The scan folder must contain the ip address of the computer you are sending the copy to and also the exact location of the folder it will be saved. Onced setup, all you have to do is to press the scan button then it will automatically save it to your preferred computer folder. Please be also noted about the file formats that your scanner will create. Usually, people uses jpg, jpeg but i recommend .Tiff cause it won't loose the quality of the scanned picture or document

Xerox M20i scan to e-mail

You can not scan with a M20i with an Ethernet cat 5 cable. It can ONLY be done via a USB or parallel cable.

If you don't believe me, which many on here wont accept the truth, here is the note from the Xerox documentation..

The WorkCentre can scan a document via Direct Scanning using a USB or Parallel Port connection only.
